Since when did blind support of the President become equated with patriotism?

I just don't understand it.

The country was founded on the idea of not believing or agreeing with every thing the leaders said or did.

When did it change?

It hasn't. If people developed patriotism after 9/11 they need a kick in the temple.

I hated Clinton. But I was patriotic when he was banging interns and ugly women from Arkansas.

Don't buy into the shit the current administration feeds you and all will be well.

Nothing is more patriotic than to argue, to question, to assure that your voice is heard.

I agree that it hasn't, just we all got a kick into the reality of world wide terrorism and now it is the in thing to do.

And I hate Bush, and I'm still patriotic. Part of what makes America great is the freedom to say, "look bub, I know you are rich and powwerful, but you are also a jerk and what you are doing is wrong"

Oh, and a few of the chicks Clinton bagged were pretty sweet...his taste deteriorated with age.

Seems like patriotism these days means hating anyone who isn't from your country.

Real classy.

Why is patriotism now equated with some sort of sophomoric 'We're #1' football rally mentality? Like loving your country means that you can't have any gripes with it, or that you can't criticize politicians? And where were all those patriots when Clinton was dragged through the coals for bad judgement? They sure weren't defending their president, were they?

Yes, the attacks on 9/11/01 were a wake up call.

But how does that justify the rape of our civil liberties?

Monitoring internet use, library use, etc... how does that keep us safer?

Not to mention the more aggressive policies and acts now authorized by our government.

By a President whose very election was on the shady side of ethics.

And this is worse than getting a blow job in the Oval Office?

Go figure.

Have you read about his 'trifecta' speech, in which he jokingly refered to the bad economy and terrorism attacks as just what his administration needed?

1. What can't you do now, you did before 9/11?

2. The internet has been monitored before 9/11. Before GW. It was funding approved for by Clinton, that he knew about. A little program called "Carnivore"

3. Aggressive as a result of 9/11. Without 9/11 these wouldn't have happened.

4. By the Constitution. 100% as intended by our Founding Fathers.

5. I guess we want morality in society but not from our leaders? Wow.

When did we ever expect morality from our leaders, we stuck our heads in the sand and pretended to not notice what was going on.

When GW smokes a fatty or does a line of Coke in office, that'll hold equal footing.

BTW didn't Clinton admit to smoking pot? "he didn't inhale" OK, the last shower he took, he didn't get wet either.

I'm sure he already has. The trick is not getting caught. That was Bill's only mistake. I doubt we've had one real saint in office yet. They're only human you know.

Frankly, a bj isn't that big of a deal...what is a big deal is the fact that the cabal in power would like to operate in secrecy, while taking away civil liberties...and I swear, Clinton was the best Republican president we've had in ages!

Blind support of the President is not patriotism.

But it's more patriotic than blind opposition based on ignorance.

I officially nominate William Jefferson Clinton for the title 'American Hero.'

I also officially nominate Dubya for the title of 'My dad was president so now I am.'

They did not back clinton because they were chickens.

There was this man bitchin about clinton at this card shop talkin about him smokin pot and foolin around and being a draft dodger. I said he smoked pot so did i, he cheated on his wife maybe his wife wasn't putting out, he used the system that our government put in place, unlike quayle his grandfather pulled some strings and got him in a national gaurd unit that was already full but they made room for him.

I liked clinton he brought some fun into the white house and made the republicans made which made them waste millions of dollars trying to get him out of office. All of this made me laugh.

Quick Nitpick:

Carnavore/Magic Lamp/numbers required a warrant.
