Since I've Been Loving You...

He was definitely the best looking Marx brother, no doubt.

You're just jealous...

I bet you hate the Beatles, too, and Eddie Vedder iz a Genius...

they are...

...my favorite band.

tough to pick, but I'll go with:

1. Kashmir
2. Custard Pie
3. When the Levee Breaks

It changes from week to week, but Kashmir stays on top pretty much always.

What's the matter with this thread? I can understand Inside Shiraz!!!

You probably think Liimp Bizket rocks...

Nope (and it's 'Bizkit').

I like (in no particular order):
the Promise Ring
Q-Tip
Radiohead
Nelly
Tool
A Perfect Circle
Outkast
Oasis
and other music that was made during my lifetime.

As far as older music goes, I like:
Commander Cody & The Lost Planet Airmen
Cat Stevens
and that's about it, I think.

Shiraz, do you like anything from this decade? :)

insideShiraz,

I have no idea. Possibly just the inspiration derived from consuming massive amounts of sex and drugs. Oh yeah, and the fact that they were all magnificent musicians.

It's a shame; they'd probably still be at it if 'ol Bonzo hadn't drunk himself to death.....like Janis, and Hendrix, and Moon, and Morrison, etc., etc.

Too Bad.

Question:
I know this will start an argument, but why did most of the really great bands of the sixties and early seventies come out of England?

Why so many good British Bands?

Because they all seem to be Midgets to begin with and are lousy at sports...STP is the best rock band out there right now...

Laurel I so love your taste... as you know

But for Led Zep (Mum's favourite band)

"Going to california"

I'm 29 and I like a lot of the "old" hard rock bands. Hard to pick, but I think my favorite Zep is "Black Dog", although, there are about 10 very close runner ups...

Because the British can have bad teeth and get away with it.

*w*

Seriously though. Most Americans were too concentrated on "making it" or getting into the business, they never really cared about the music. I'm sorry, but all that tra-la-la happy bubble gum shit eats my brain when I have to listen to it. Now, the Beatles. Not quite completely far from the bubble-gum, but they were better. And towards the sixties, man, they just went out on a limb there. Broke many many rules.

Americans were afraid of "my record sales!!!"

Plus, it's harder to "make it" in America than it is in Britain. Case in point: SpiceGirls. *shudders*

I hated Led Zeppelin in the seventies,

It's an aquired taste, like dark beer or good sour mash whiskey. It's definitely not for everyone.

No band, other than the Beatles, experimented with different genres and instrumentation than Zep. They went from the heaviest animalistic stomp, to beautiful melodic pieces, to complicated orchestral overtures, sometimes all within the same track.

By the way, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Topp, Jethro Tull, Blondie and Steely Dan are names of bands, not people. LMAO!
