I write. I write quite a lot actually. I write books of history and theory, more than a few non-fiction articles for journals and magazines from London to Taipei, reviews of this that and the other thing, and now a screenplay. In short, words are my life. I use words to craft reality for my readers and to add structure to reality for myself. Yet now, for the first time, I am without words. I cannot find the correct string of vowels and consonants to convey what your beauty is, what it does, how it strikes me. That a woman, a literate woman, might also be so heartwrenchingly beautiful...it's the stuff of fantasies, not reality. Yet, I hope, perhaps dream, that you are real.
