It's quiet here. The kids are with their dad. The puppies are sleeping. (Who knew 8 of those little things could make such noise?) The idiot mutt is softly snoring on the couch. The mother of the pups has gone to her own home now, and it's the first time in about a 5 weeks I've had a break from her. I'm fresh from the shower in a new sweatshirt that's still soft and fuzzy on the inside. I'm sitting back just enjoying the silence. I know it won't last, but for now, life is good.

I understand simple pleasures! Just to have 1 hour of quiet time, a nice hot bubble bath alone reading a book....priceless.

Just finished hosting my sons 5th birthday party. Those boys were hard to keep up with, though I admit having a blast!

The mama is a husky crossed with a springer spaniel and the father is some sort of "deadbeat lab". You know, that hit and run male each town has that hits as many bitches in heat as he can.

Simple pleasures: my sometimes boyfriend, off again and on again for the last couple of months spent the WHOLE night last night, didn't rush off home at 3 am. Cuddling in each other's arms and falling into a soft sleep.

Simple pleasure #2: Daughter Angela crawled in between us early this mornning, and snuggled warmly in my arms and his. I'm hoping he sticks around long enough this time to become Angela's full-time father (her biological father didn't want that job; too bad, cuz she's my sweet, precious little angel). Not sure if current sometimes B/F wants, or is ready for, that job full-time yet, but I'm hoping some day.

Unlike Angela's dad, he doesn't mind my working as an exotic dancer, or my extracurricular sex with other women. I sometimes let him join in.

It's all in how you raise 'em. My 2 are warped as hell, and I much prefer it. When Star Trek Nemesis came out, my daughter saw the trailer and begged to go see it. She also makes it SO easy for me to day "If you don't behave, there's NO Star Trek for you for a week, young lady!"
