This will seem odd.

How do I QUOTE?

I know, click the quote button, right? But when I do that, I get a message that says

Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_STRING' or `T_VARIABLE' or `T_NUM_STRING' in /home/literot/literotica/forum/newreply.php(48) : eval()'d code on line 1

has this happened to anyone else? I can ctr c, ctrl v, copy paste, and add quotation marks, of course - but it really seems it ought to just be as easy as clicking on "quote," when I want to reply to someone's post, and quote them.

Any advice, please?

Test!

Worse case WG, you can copy the text you want to quote and put

Code:
[quote] [/quote]
tags around the text :)

bleh wont let me put the quote tags in, but it's quote with [ ] around :p

so, that would be
[ " ] words, words, words [ " ]

like, this?

["] worst case, WG,["]

let's see!

argh, no luck!
anyone else want to take a stab at this?

for what it's worth, i also can't make the bold, underline, or italics work.

bold

no the word quote inside [] , then again, but put a / in front of quote to finish it. If that made any sense, nursing a hangover here :)

yeah put a / in front of your second B and it will probably work :)

vapidness,

I adore you.

May I get you anything for your hangover, darling?

Something soft and inviting to rest my spinning head would be fine ;)

Ok, Watergirl, I will. I think you must be under the impression that the codes in this place operated like regular html commands like you might have run into in other fora, i.e., you put a code on either end of the thing that you wanted to quote, bold, italicize, etc. However, I found out that what you want to do is close the tag.

When you go to reply to something, you will find two commands with little x's--Close Current Tag, and Close All Tags. I'm not sure how the latter one works, but I always use the Close-Current-Tag command. I click on the bold or italics button, type in the text I want treated that way, and then hit Close Current Tag, and voila! I haven't used some of those other buttons, like list, but I would imagine they worked the same way.

thanks, slick, i see now, i see now!

i'm talkative, but not so computer smart, sometimes.

my talents are in other areas... ;)

mm... had my full serving of paint today, so i'm afraid all you get is a sketch - but it's just for you...

somewhere warm, but with a breeze, and peaceful and quiet and calm, and a book and a rowboat... trees, hills in the distance with pines.

all to yourself... no neighbors, no phones, and a glass of perfect lemonade.

Excellent, I was only kidding but you showed me, wonderful, love your work :)

awww, flattery, flattery, sweetie.

but thanks... i'm a much better copier than original artist.. but i'm workin on that, in a lazy kind of way. this orig. art week for av's has been a lot of fun - i've been through a different one each day, but haven't come up with a new one for today, tho.

i'm a slacker. i should get to that..

it was a piece of paper out of the printer next to the computer.

i'm workin on a new av for friday.. not sure - i'll get your opinion -

I like the one I have up now, but this might be fun for a while, too... I'm such a visual junkie some days!

'Spreadeagled'
