I agree. Please, just say what you feel and talk it out between the two of you. Communications is the most important aspect of any relationship, personal or professional. When two people stop communicating, the relationship will not survive.

Also, when you communicate, do just that - communicate. Don't be argumentative or defensive and speak clearly...not in parables.

The silent treatment never works and serves only to antagonize the other party. Speak up!

I totally agree with you. The 'silent treatment' really communicates a lot about the person who uses it in relationships. It really says - 'I really don't know how to tell you about how I feel or what is bothering me'. And it goes a step further by saying - 'I expect you to be able to read my mind and if you don't you don't really love me'.

Both of these statements are indications of problems with communication. The silent treatment - I am punishing you for my problems.

I agree that the silent treatment really sucks. It has happened to me a couple of times here and I have seen others post about that. We would be talking fine and having a good time and all of the sudden, nothing. So of course, I try to find out what happened and if I did something to cause it to try to work things out, but they would not respond. At that point, I feel I did my part and if they are not interested, so be it... I am not going to lose any sleep over it. Life is way too short for that!! But people if you really care about the other person and want to have a relationship, whether it is email, friends, love, life partners whatever....You have to keep the lines of communication open and share what you are feeling.

The only thing is, that I still find that it is a form of rejection and no matter how hard I try not to let it affect me, there is still some form of pain associated with it.

No it is not me in the AV, but thanks anyway. I know I felt rejected, too. But there were other people here who help to make me feel sexy and loved, etc...so it was not real hard to get over the pain of one asshole. I do hope you find happiness and love. You seem like a really nice guy and deserve to be happy.
