Sigh

ohhhh.... :(

Sorry, Rob... even Mighty Casey struck out... get back on the horse... all those silly metaphors, comin' atcha, along with a dose of sympathy and a nice soothing balm for the bruised ego...

No, the publishing company I sent something to. My second best piece after Abyss.

I wonder why I bother? You think after fifty years I'd have learned that effort and reward are unrelated.

Hardly anyone ever actually gets published on their first try, Rob. You know how many reams of paper worth of rejection letters most popular novelists receive before they actually get accepted and paid for a story?

Keep your head up and try again. We all know your stuff is good enough.

What Jett said.

I have a huge wall filled with rejection letters. They outnumber the acceptance letters over 40 to 1.

Every other author in existence has done close to the same thing. Many joke about the various collages they have made from rejections. It's an intrinsic yet unfortunate symptom of the process.

I tossed it, Luc. If I kept my rejection letters, paid any attention to them, it would be only a couple of weeks before I stuck the business end of a gun in my mouth. I've had little but rejection in my life. No need to wallow in it.

Thanks Jammies, Aurora.

Please don't give up, Rob. You're meant to write professionally. I know it. I knew it when I read The Orange Slip.

Keep trying. The world needs your words.

Thanks all.

Surprisingly, for me, I'm recovering already. Was more like a kick in the shins than a kick in the crotch.

You rock.

Sorry to hear of the 'R'. You are a big man, step over it and walk on, rejection is but one step on the pathway to success.
