I went to edit my sigline- I was just going to change the link for "Magic" at the bottom to the last page of the thread w/ the update on it. Anyway, I couldn't. Because our siglines are now limited to so many characters.

Well- some people are going to be really happy about this, but I am not one.

Now, I can't change mine- ever. Because I got a special encouraging PM from a lit poster when she thought that my extra long sigline was gone. So for her, of course, I will keep it. But that means I can't edit it at all!

MY sigline is carved in stone!

...oh well....

I'm afraid you'll have to. Manu is going to disable HTML code in signatures any day, now, for security reasons. There was an announcement about it, I think. :rose:

No more links in the sig lines!? :(

Huh. Thought this was already done. ?
Does that mean that I won't be able to use nonbreaking spaces to create indents?

There is already an "indent" feature on the vBcode tool bar.

No, right now, you can still use HTML on your signature (not on regular posts). But Manu said he's going to disable it soon and that we should convert our sigs to vB code.

I'm not sure. I noticed the nonbreaking spaces' code stopped working on regular posts right after the update. That has been my only problem with the new version...

  <-- see?

Indeed, but it kind of, well, sucks.

I can only do
indents
in those
huge steps
ANd it adds line breaks every time. No control. :(

There's also vBcode for creating tables, but it's a pain in the ass because if there are any hard returns, they appear OUTSIDE the table at the top of the post (or sig) ... as I learned this morning when I was creating the cat nominees post. So, the code for that table is one huge line without any carriage returns.

Lauren- you do have such a way with words!

Now I have to learn all over again to fix my sig line. Can someone tell me where to look to learn? '

Thanks.

Out of curiosity, and because I'm to lazy to look for myself, anybody know what the current max number of characters for the sig line is now? 150?
Less?

Here is a list of all vB code. You can now edit your sig using the same interface as the one used for regular posts, even with a preview feature, so it should be easy. :)

1000 (but that includes the code, I think)

I never saw this table before, thanks. :rose:

Someone should PM Manu about getting our  s back.
Oooh, baby, talk more HTML to me. :)

Can you say something hot in JAVA?

I changed mine and it got bollocksed up, so I had to cut down one of Lew's quotes a bit.

It's a cruel, cruel world...
