okay the story is, year 4021, strange signals have been picked up lately from somewhere in the universe. The humans who know(high up-pers) decide to send out a probe. The probe's last transmission was being picked up in some sort of light beam from an unknown planet. After that, when it had landed, the viewers saw a large armored creature pick up the probe in one palm and unhook the view connection cable. The incident went on top classification, and the world secretly went on highest alert. A few months later, new signals in a broken english came from the same region where the probe was lost. "we recieve ur probe. You slave. Prepare fast, we come." Two months later, the earth saw a large blue ship the size of north america appear in front of the sun, causing a solar eclipse.

The world was screwed...

okay, now to start details,
you can play as a soldier(you choose what branch of military), a civilian(high up person prefered, commander in chief, etc)or an alien, which are called Malikut. choose a name and weapon if any. The aliens use the same basic ranking skill as us, if a little different. (oh, and for you perfectionists out there, the aliens don't speak english except the occasional broken bit to humans, otherwise they use Maliku)

starting.

Mirru, Malikut High General, stood on the bow of his glorious ship, the Remirty, and looked out the large glass window. A perfect view of earth, soon to be just another empty planet.
Mirru: "Sargent Jelre, turn on the intercom, whole ship." The young sargent pressed an image on the holo-screen and a click signaled the intercom was on. "Malikut soldiers!" Mirru started, "Welcome to earth! This beautiful planet is full of lifeforms, just ready to be harvested. Get to your ships, and prepare to launch on my mark." Mirru stood up and walked over to the window and rubbed to glass and smiled a devilish smile. "Yes, this will surely look very well on my list of accomlishements, hm hm."

Back down on earth, the poor people are basicallly going into tipical chaos, keeping the national gaurd and localized militia busy. All troops are in position ready to protect at a moments notice. They'll need a bit more than luck to stop these beasts...

occ: so, what do y'll think?

Do not loose heart, your ideas have foundation.
I find such threads as this a little complex with the limited time i have to play with, but if you have faith in your idea, keep with it.
If this thread does not fire, perhaps start another and see if the interest is any greater.

"smiles"

OOC: Trust me when I say this. Your idea is really good but it is just that it is hard to get started around here, especially with a new thread.

It will happen but it will just take time to get established around here, trust me. I know.

I'll give it a shot. I've never been in a futuristic RP (at least not other than Star Wars RPGs) but it should be a fun challenge.

I've got a basic character idea in mind, but I'd like to ask a few preliminary questions. Particularly, in your vision of the 41st century, how far have humans expanded? Have we colonized on other planets? Beyond our solar system? Are these invading aliens our first contact with nonhuman life?

OOC: Here's my character idea. See what you think, and if any of the details need to be changed, they can.

She lie awake in her bed, staring at the non-descript ceiling. I'll only be gone a few years... long enough to pay for college and then I'll come home. She had been thinking a lot about the promise to her parents she had made, so many years ago. She had believed it herself then. Having only enlisted in the Army to exploit the generous paychecks and tuition reimbursement, she assumed that once she had taken care of her education, she would return to the private sector to start a new career and a family.

She yearned to return home to California, to the fresh air, the smells of salt and sand all around her. She even missed the bustle of tourists, come to see the United States brand new island state -- their second. Centuries of plate shifting had created first wide valleys, then rivers, finally pushing the better part of the state into the ocean. Real estate had boomed over the last millennium, as what was once landlocked desert on both sides became oceanfront property. But even that dream had faded. California was sinking now. The catastrophic earthquake of 4012 violently forced most of the young island underwater, taking countless lives with it. She had no home now.

Rubbing her eyes, she finally swung her legs over the side of the bed, and rose to her feet. She crossed her quarters to her private latrine. After performing her morning grooming routine, she paused to notice her reflection in the mirror. While only thirty-five, deep lines had already begun to form in her brow. Her dark auburn hair, dull and lifeless after spending years in a tight bun, fell well past her shoulders. The skin over her cheeks was taut, her complexion pale, but unblemished. Blue-grey eyes stared back at her, tired and sorrowful.

An electronic chirp cut through the silence. She returned to the main room, striding directly to her computer terminal. Jabbing a few keys with one hand, she hurriedly finished dressing. Out of the terminals video output a hologram appeared.

"Good morning, General Abram," the figure spoke, his voice crisp with military precision and formality, "Forgive me for the early call, but we've received an update on the situation from Central. We need you in the war room."

Glancing at her chronodisplay, large red digital numbers flashed 0410. Blinking again, she remembered the hologram was waiting for her response. "Thank you, Captain. I'll meet you in the war room in five minutes." The hologram nodded and flickered into darkness.

Snatching her personal data organizer from its dock attached to her terminal, she strode out the automatically sliding door into the ship's main corridor, preparing for the worst.

OOC: Forgot to offer some stats for her
Name: Chelsea Abram
Age: 35
Occupation: General in the Army (I left it as "the" Army as it was not clarified if by 4021 there were indeed still national armies or Earth had instead amassed some sort of global armed forces. I kind of like that idea, as it allows for more diversity amongst military staff, but it's your call.)
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 135 lbs.
Eye color: Blue-grey
Hair color: Dark Auburn

hey,sorry

OCC: hey yall, sorry i haven't been on in a while, i been hooked on sims(yes, adults play it too, especially thanks to m and m needful things, hmhmhm!) anyways, yah, i didn't know the story was a tad complex, i do write stories a lot for fun, particuraly sci fi and fantasy(medeval, imaginative, etc) well, off that,

yeah, your thing sounds pretty good. i like the earthquake idea, everyone always knew the damn thing would sink someday, lol! probably wiped out hawaii too, lol! but in answer to some previous questions, humans have advanced pretty far, seeing how far we are now, i'd say pretty dang far. but keeping realism, nano tech is starting to catch hype and i it's in widespread use. Um, the only hovercars are still classified for Military use. Scientist have created the first nano-tech, nano-AI, robot. It resembles the ones from terminator in a sense; they are just stating to be used, very expensive. RoboSuits are availiable for certain missions. These are..hmm, how to describe them, um, i guess take a gundam, minimize it down to double human hight, add customized weapon sets along with good armor.(yes i did make this all up as i typed, lol) Oh, and to an even earlier question, yes, this is earth's first alien encounter.

Alrighty then!

Occ: oh, and to another ?, no, no planet colonization yet, although artificial oxygen producers are starting to be developed. maybe soon.... nad there is a Global Army, mainly what allies we might have left(britian, Canada and..well, i think thats all that will end up being left) and the origional UN groups along with a few tiny war nations hooked in. But yes there are multiple Mini armies, which i call Militia.
Back to the story...

Daniel Feah

5ft,4 in
Field Commander,Global Army

Daniel got up from his hastened nap as he heard gunshots. He grabbed his gun and ran outside, rolling behind a trash can with practiced efficiency;no sound. He peeked out and saw a young recruit shooting a snake that had apparently tried to get a nice meal off of him. The recruit hbbled off to the Med tent, cursing the whole way. Daniel laughed and went back to his bunk. Ugh, he thought to himself, field excersises are tomorrow, yippy-freakin-do!

Back to Mirru and the other Malikut: THE NEXT DAY

Sargent Jelre ran back to the bridge and handed Mirru a small disk. Mirru put it into the Holocomputer Consle and turned on the new data. A live video showed the humans amassing, shooting at nothing, and every so often, blowing up random things. How odd, mused Mirru, the humans are playing toy soldiers, hmhm.
A young female voice told the High General that their emmisaries were ready to go down to earth and let them know what will happen to them. "Very good, Linfa. Send them right down there in that big field where all the humans are playing" he said pointing to the onscreen map.

On earth:

Daniel was in the process of helping a recruit better his aim when his Walkie-Talkie fizzled out "Aliens entering atmosphere, Do not shoot, repeat, do not shoot." Daniel gathered his troops and told them the news and sent a few back to be rear guard in case this was a trick. Then the ship came into view. "Oh crap, run!!!" he shouted to everyone and they all ran behind cover and ducked as the ship, going full speed, impacted. The ground shook and the shockwave knocked over a few tents and a couple of trees. Daniel wiped all the dust from his head and went to look. A huge crater with a large metal bean in the center was in place of his training field. No tact these aliens, no tact.

Occ: well i think that is suitable for now, i will return later, so have fun!
