Sick and Tired

Many thanks to those who have supported me. I may still try and finish a few unresolved stories, but for all intents and purposes I am finished here except for editing duties that I have already committed to.

For those who wonder why, I am tired of utilizing every available break and lunch hour to engineer a story to have those "who don't write" to tear my stories apart. They are not deserving of my personal sacrifice.

A big kiss to the queens (LadyC and Kbate), a respected salute to so many others (Carver, etc.) and an extended finger to those readers that can find no good in any story.

Sorry to hear. Hope you change your mind. Trolls can be bitches (or SOBs). Personally, I have never been tempted to quit. But that's my stubborn nature, my refusal to do what others want if I don't like them. I understand why you feel the way that you do, but think of it this way: if you give up, THEY win. Just a thought.

I honestly can't say that I've read your stories, but I know I can't find any good in a quitter either.

You can't write and post for the good reviews and expect to enjoy doing this. You have to write and post for yourself and all reviews, good or otherwise, be damned.

Unless of course you've just got one of those really bent out of shape egos that thinks it needs continuous stroking. In which case, find something to do that you know everyone will think you're really good at.

*hugs* seeker, do what you have to do,love. If you're just doing this as a bit of fun, as many of us do, it seems silly to stress yourself out over it. :rose:

Don't burn the bridges

It may be that you are going through what many of us experience from time to time - a feeling that Literotica takes up too much of your life and you need to adjust your priorities.

If you reduce your time on Literotica, write stories only when you have to, and post only when a thread really interests you, you might find a balance between too much time here, and too little.

If you delete everything and walk away you might want to come back after a few months.

Leave the way open to come back when you want to.

Og

Also, although I haven't read your stories, I see that about 2/3 have H. That in itself says people are enjoying your stories.

It is my observation in dealing with the public in my entire working life, that the complainers complain, and those who appreciate your work usually stay quiet.

Writing is a lonely endeavor (although the AH makes it slightly less so). You need Rhinolike skin to suffer the feedback.

Don't let the complainers win. See the constructive criticism if there is any in your feedback, and ignore the rest.

And Ogg's advice is spot on.

If you pack up and leave, the trolls win. It's so much more satisfying to continue to write and piss them off by staying.

It's up to you. I know from experience how moments like this can be. You gotta pace yourself, set up a writing schedule, work as hard as you can but not too much, etc. Best of luck, man. If you need any help talking through it, we're here.

No offence love, but if you consider yourself a writer? Don't you want readers? Isn't that what writers need? If you feel you must go - you must, but I'd suggest you need a skin.
