Sibling address question

I'm terrible with names, so I do the same thing. Kinda. I tend to call everybody Sweet Cheeks or Honey Muffin. And when I have sex, just to avoid any embarrassing confusion, I groan out my own name.

Oink! Oink! Oink! Oink!

LOL I'd have snarfed if I'd been drinking anything. Thanks for the laugh, Sweet Muffin!

You called your brothers & sisters Sweet Cheeks or Honey Muffin?!?!?!?!?! Brave man!

I have a step-brother, and on occasion he will call me sis, and I will call him bro. But in my mind, it's more a stepping stone to bridge the gap since we aren't really brother and sister.
I have a half-sister, and I'm ten years older than her. She has always called me Sissy. That's just my name. She's 18 now, and I'm still Sissy. She has trouble even saying my real name, it's just not right to her.
Also, my great-grandma's younger sister always called her 'Sis'. For her entire life- even when they were ladies in their 90's. Furthermore, her children called my great-grandma, 'Aunt Sis'.

Maybe it's a country thing. :p lol.

My sister has referred to me as "bro" for more than twenty years now. I find it vaguely irksome, but would never tell her so.

I'll occasionally call my younger brother broseph, but only ever in an ironic way. He's a kid, but he gets it. In turn, my youngest sister never calls me anything but big brother. She's five, and I have no idea where she got that from.

For whatever reason, my half-sister, who's my age and one of my best friends, goes whole hog and calls me 'brother dearest,' or 'brother mine,' constantly. That's only as recent as our teenage years though; when we were growing up she'd just use my name.

My eldest brother and sister (I come from a large family) have taken to calling me bro, though, with a slight New Zealand accent, making it come out as 'bru.' I have no good goddamn idea why that is, and if anyone could shed some light I'd be grateful :D

Oh! And my wife calls her brother bro, but that's just to piss him off ;)

I don't have a 'bro' but I've got a sistah....though I don't think I'd call her anything other than the common nickname that I grew up calling her. Just the same with her, she calls me Ferg (strange I know) but even her son calls me Auntie Ferg, it's just how I would want it. Same with addressing holiday/birthday cards. I call my sister and her husband by their nicknames while they do the same.

This has actually been interesting, to see what people do. Mostly it's shown me that there's no wrong way to handle it, which is good. This is not going to be a huge part of the story, but I was curious. Thanks everybody. :)

I have no brother but I’ve hung around with several. The only time I’ve heard “bro” used, was as part of a put-down or snarky remark.

Such as, brother one drops something and brother two says, “Smooth move, Bro.”

The last time my brother dropped something I said, "Smooth move, Ferguson."

It's an inside joke. You'd have had to have been there.
