The photo is old, and the tattoo long since filled. I would also suggest one takes extra time in deciding on a rib tattoo. It was a painful experience, and although I found it to be worth while in the end I'm sure there are others that may not be so lucky. LOL!

Did I mention that you should show us?

It really is a fantastic tattoo. Even more so after learning what it means. When you say that it's one of many, do you mean one of many that you have that represent the concept, or one of many that could be used to represent it. I hope that makes sense. My brain is starting to slow down to a trickle.

Oh, and thank you. I started shooting some of my pics from that angle when I was too lazy to use the self timer. It worked so well that I still tend to try to get at least one from a similar angle.

I like the literal interpretation as well, not only for it's inherent otherworldly charm but it always gives me the feeling of 'age'; that is to say the Japanese language is old and very intricate.

Currently I have 13 tattoos, IF you count the two small ones on my right hand. Each one speaks about a part of who I am in subtle and not so subtle ways. Each represents the concept of the struggle between good and evil, as I perceive it, and as it carries on in me. I know how silly it may sound that I lay claim to a struggle of such magnitude within me, but I have always been incredibly metaphoric. So each tattoo is also a metaphor. I'm such it will only get more confusing as time goes on

Seriously? Anything that's seductive, teasing, and involves clothing being removed will make you a huge hit around here. Take pics with your shirt unbuttoned, untucked, pants being undone, pants lower on your hips, etc. Show women around here your hips and we'll do every damn thing we can to get you out of your pants though.
