A none-too-original idea I've been toying with but couldn't make anything out of:

Hell sends a demon to lead a guy into temptation, and Heaven responds by sending an angel to try to keep him on the path of virtue. But something goes wrong, and instead of just whispering into his subconscious, they manifest physically as two sexy women.

On top of that, they are both ill-suited for the job. You have the timid demon girl who was always bullied by other demons and was sent on this mission as a prank, having been set up to fail. While the angel has no interest in the job – she only took it in order to play tourist on this plane of existence (there's a music festival she wanted to go to, as Heaven doesn't get any of the best musicians). But now they're each stuck here until they complete their respective missions (i.e., only one will be able to leave), and all three are forced to share an apartment.

How do they get along? How do they end up in bed?
In short, what is the story?

Interesting...

One thing I can see happening is the angel feels a pang of conscious from her indifferent attitude. So she goes to a church confessional, maintaining her human identity, and receives good advice from the priest.

The demon can't find an advisor as Hell doesn't have the culture or architecture for something like that in it's system.

Back at the apartment, the angel and demon share one bedroom while the guy has his own. In bed at night, the angel hears the timid demon crying in her bed after 'lights out'. Practicing her recently rejuvenated empathy, the angel goes over to ease the demon's suffering. The demon does a quick flip (or slow burn it) and the two end up having sex with one another. Of course, its the demon who, under the advice from the angel to get stronger, initiates it. The angel is overwhelmed and succumbs to the demon's advances. They have a great time. They decide to join forces.

The guy has no idea what's coming for him and he's attacked and does his best to hold on, in bed, sexually speaking. Both the demon and the angel decide what they have here is a good thing and say "fuck the heirachy" that sent them to earth. The shuck their eternal gifts and settle in as a throuple for the rest of their natural lives.

To drive the story, one idea could be that the guy has a girlfriend, but he's also been tempted by another woman who's flirting with him (at work, for example). The demon was meant to push him to cheat on his girlfriend, while the angel was meant to keep him faithful. Now that he's living with the both of them, it complicates things further with his girlfriend, and provides a driver for all sorts of drama/sitcom/sexy shenanigans.

… It's becoming more and more obvious that this is your basic Magical Girl Harem Anime setup.

This has wonderfully Good Omens vibes, and I'm all about it.

What might be interesting is that after a while, both the angel and demon find the guy kind of annoying. He keeps commenting on how hot they are, when really they were just there for a job. "Sexual harassment at work," grumbles the Angel. "I'm more than just perky tits," sighs the Demon.

So when they can, they sneak out and do their own thing, realizing how much they like Earth... and each other. So they say screw it, ditch Heaven and Hell, and run off together, leaving the guy to wonder where his Angel and Demon went.

Until they get enough followers to create their own afterlife! Then shit really hits the fan when God and Satan and the poor schlub running Purgatory (Jeff) go, "Wait, why are our numbers down?"

Then... deity sex-off!

Ok, again, this sounds way too similar as the Tumblr idea of the angel being the unhinged one and the demon being the virtuous one.
