Should loyalty be limited?

I am a persons friend unless they prove they are no longer a friend to me........

I like to think I've been loyal to my friends through rough times they have had. One even commented that I'm like my nic and AV, loyal like a hound.

I've only had one couple split. I'd have stayed friends with both, but my soon to be ex became uncomfortable with the situation, and we drifted apart from both of them. I felt badly about that.

I like that sentiment, TH...and I just realized that I had to work last Friday and forgot to PM you my number!
Oh yeah. :( Nevermind I'm sure they will have the special again soon. :)

Cindy I have been friends with for 36 years.
Mary I have been friends with for 24 years.
Barbara I have been friends with for 21 years.
I've been married for 16 years.
To those I love I'm very loyal.

My list is way to long, I was just giving examples.

How loyal of a person are you?

Loyal to some. Not on your life to others.

Do you stay loyal to people no matter how badly you have been treated?

No, my loyalty hinges on the way I'm treated.

Do you duck and run as soon as the going gets rough?

No, but if there's any doubt, there is no doubt.

When you are friends with a couple that splits..which direction does your loyalty head?

Usually with who I was friends with first.

I am fiercely loyal, almost to a fault. Once someone becomes a friend it takes a serious violation of my trust to lose my friendship. Even after the friendship ends, I am still loyal. Whatever was discussed in private stays private.

i am as loyal as a dog. true till the end on most occassions

i get treated really badly by alot of people because i am easily walked over. but i stick with people until they decide they cant be arsed anymore.

at the mo my best friend is treating me in a way that implies that everyone else is more important than me. i cant moan about it to her because she will just shout. so i am just being loyal as usual just waiting for the time when we part friends because of her.

this happens all the time and it hurts.

at the moment every single on of my friends are in couples and when/if they split up im assuming i will continue to be friends with my boy friends more as they are the ones i have know longer, but if the girls want to keep being friends i will and i wont badger them to discuss their relationships. let them tell me in their own time

Ultimately, there must be a reciprocation of the loyalty that I feel toward someone. My feelings of loyalty toward a person increase with the amount of depth in the relationship and its duration. I will do my best to work out any problems in a relationship, as I see this as being an important part of being loyal.

No, I wouldn't be loyal to someone who treated me badly, but I wouldn't be their friend any longer so loyalty doesn't count there.

I don't duck and run. I'll remain loyal...no matter how much shit I get! ;)

I haven't had any friends split yet so I can't answer that!

Loyalty is a two way street and not everybody remembers that, I'm loyal within reason and provided the other person is loyal to me.

Can I beg to differ.

I give friendship and loyalty, I ask nothing in return.

Everybody must do as they see fit but don't hold your breath waiting for me to change a policy that served me well all my life.
