Should I post in Incest?

I am not sure if my current story should be posted under "Incest" or not. I do not feel that it should, but I fear that it goes far enough that there might be backlash if posted in a different category.

It is essentially a love triangle between a brother, sister, and unrelated woman. The sister is frequently nude in front of the brother. The brother has sexual thoughts about his sister, including dreaming of her and the other woman having sex. The siblings also spoon while naked.

There is no sex between the siblings. It is implied at one point.

In my opinion, it dances around incest, but it does not actually go there. I am just not sure what the readers will think.

What do you all think? Will general readers be upset if this is not posted in "Incest" and/or will the "Incest" readers be upset if it is?

Yes, and yes, unfortunately. The odds are that it's going to get moved to incest regardless of your choice, but if it goes somewhere else, readers are very likely to balk. In incest, it doesn't go far enough to scratch the itch.

If it's the story you want to tell, then incest is the proper place for it. You just need to be prepared for a less than stellar response.

If this by chance is a "chapter one" then combine it with a later chapter where the siblings engage more. The more you develop their relationship, the better it will perform. If it eventually goes all the way, and you've done enough build-up, it could actually perform quite well.

Voyeurism is a sex act, as are depiction of "sex thoughts" and "spooning while naked." The site will put this in Incest/Taboo.

And, the next level of question is how old are the sister and brother? Maybe the story won't get posted here at all.

You haven't said enough about the story for anyone to opine on what other category it should be posted in.

My general view is that if it CAN be posted in incest (this story can be, based on the way you've described it), then it SHOULD be posted in incest, because it will get more views that way.

I wonder why that is? Is it because of federal laws? Are the site owners afraid of getting prosecuted or getting attention in the media or something?

This Site has a hard rule prohibiting any stories regarding sexual activity involving under-18 characters. It's the way it is. It's not because of the law -- the law does not prohibit stories about people under 18 having sex. It's because of the preferences of the owners of the Site. We can only speculate about their motives.

I did a story about a young woman in a dom/sub relationship. For reasons I thought worked, I put it in Romance rather than BDSM. Most people were OK with that, but some objected strongly and I do believe it scored less well because of that.

In the end, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, don't be too timid about calling it a duck.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I think that I might do a bit a rewrite and have them consummate the relationship in the end. This will give the incest fans what they crave, since it will end up there anyway.
