Should I or shouldn’t I?

Several years ago I wrote 160k word multi-chapter story about 2 young couples that get brought in on the family orgy. It was originally a fan-fiction piece for a very popular (and restricted here) franchise.
I’m contemplating re-skinning it by changing the names and removing all references to the original IP. Two things are stopping me.
1. The writing is less mature than what I am currently writing. It is really 16 chapters of stroke material.
2. Re-writing it will take time away from current projects.

On the upside, i could redo it all in less than a month. Since it is T/I, it will probably get me a bunch of new followers. The 32-36 weeks (one chapter every 2 weeks) it would take to post it would give me time to finish my current novel length story.

I'd say go for it, if the act of posting that 160k story is the ticking timer kick you need to finish your novel. I just pray your chapter releases don't get caught up in this current submission vacuum. That'd be additional stress to pile on top of finishing your novel.
