Okay, now I'm curious. Apparently, I know you, and presumably I've come to the conclusion that you're a woman, but I can't work out which woman it would be. That's just bugging me now.
I think you should come out, but, as people have mentioned, you should tell anyone who's likely to be annoyed/upset first up via PM and then make the general announcement. Personally I don't think it would bother me that much unless we were very good friends and I'd trusted you and/or we'd had naughty conversations under false pretences.

L has a point. Shanglan manages to get away with being completely gender-ambiguous, mainly because he/she/it has always maintained mystique and not given that many clues. Personally, I think Shang's a girl, but I know lots of people who think he/she/it's a bloke, so you pays your money and you takes your chances.
The point that I'm attempting to ramble to is that Shang gets away with it because there is no subterfuge. Lies are where the bad are and I think the sooner you stop, the better.
But that is the opinion of someone desperately curious to find out who you are and thus must be taken with a pinch of salt.
