Should all children be raised by the State?

IMO, parents can't be trusted to raise their children properly. As usual, the private sector is not working. Some examples of children raised by their parents include Adolf Hitler, Charles Manson and Osama bin Laden. It can't be a coincidence that none of these evil men were raised by the State.

Children raised in orphanages have an IQ 20 points lower than their peers in foster care, according to a meta-analysis of 75 studies (more than 3,800 children in 19 countries). This shows the need for children to be raised in families, not in institutions

Each year, over 29,000 youth “age out” of foster care without the emotional and financial support necessary to succeed. This number has steadily risen over the past decade. Nearly 40% had been homeless or couch surfed, nearly 60% of young men had been convicted of a crime, and only 48% were employed. 75% of women and 33% of men receive government benefits to meet basic needs. 50% of all youth who aged out were involved in substance use and 17% of the females were pregnant.

Nearly 25% of youth aging out did not have a high school diploma or GED, and a mere 6% had finished a two- or four-year degree after aging out of foster care. One study shows 70% of all youth in foster care have the desire to attend college.

stats show the state flunks worse than the rents.

Zero children have been raised by rutabagas. Give rutabagas a chance!

Though they are controversial they've sold the same book on baking and baking recipes for forty years. That book is a must-have for anyone who enjoys baking.

I have not read their cookbook, though I'm certain that it is simply more of the same "free market" propaganda. Am I safe in assuming that there is no recipe for red velvet cake?

Typical individualist, flouting your John Birch Society propaganda. The State can do anything and everything better than the idiots that populate the filthy mob that we call the private sector.

i totally agree. but only if the state commits itself properly and provides adequate resources. the state needs to up it's game.

In essence, the State is perfection, like the moving parts of a pocket watch. Problems arise when capitalist pigs are elected. They give corporations free reign to jam up the gears of the great watch of governance. The result makes it appear as if the State itself is somehow flawed, but, like a pocket watch, it runs beautifully if allowed to do so.

This must describe some rat maze in your head that is badly constructed, not reality. Government employees and parents are both composed of people. Some good, some bad.

By the way, parenthood isn't "private sector" as it isn't a business. Governments that attempt to take away the children of people who want their own children haven't existed well because...people get mad.

Haven't you seen the Hunger Games? That's history!

Aren't you late for your JBS meeting, Reaganite? No one is suggesting that the State should take away the children. The parents would have full visitation rights at all hours of the day. Furthermore, should they prove to be able to raise their children in accordance with our guiding principles, then they would be allowed to raise them, with the supervision of the State, of course. The children are the future Party Leaders, and it is most important that their minds not be warped by improper parenting.

Also, the "Hunger Games" is a fairy tale depicting a Nazi "utopia." It has nothing to do with history. It is entirely fictional.

Good luck with that!

No way, I totally thought it was a documentary. Are you sure?

I don't watch Hollywood movies, but I am certain that it is fiction. My understanding is that it depicts a fascist government that is owned and operated by large corporations.

Bet you were educated by the state. What a tragic loss of pop culture references.
