Shoes and confidence

This is silly, but it crossed my mind just now. I'm sitting here, dressed for work (and looking rather nice), and I've got these shoes on that I just love. They're on a platform of about 3 inches, and they're strappy, with straps winding around the foot, to the ankle. They make my feet look good.

My best friend wears her heeled maryjanes when she wants to feel cute, and her stilletto boots to feel sexy.

Do your shoes express your moods? Are there any shoes that make you feel cute/sexy/pretty/comfy, etc?

Black boots. I have many, many pairs of them in different styles to suit just about any of my moods. I wear them with just about everything that I own.

I also have one pair of to-die-for fuck me shoes. 5 inch heels and several straps across the top of my foot and one around my ankle. I simply adore these shoes.

Last night because we were just going to be at a legion hall, I wore my running shoes - but once I found out we were going to a different place, I had to go home and change shoes.

I got a pair of fuck me boots after Xmas, and although I've only worn them once, I know exactly what you mean. Shoes complete an outfit - so if you look good already, they just add to it. Also, if you look just ok, the right shoes can make you feel ten times better.

I love shoes..

I have beat up steel toes that I wear to work, paint covered, andI need to remember to replace the currently crunchy laces... but they also are good for hiking in the woods, and feeling able to kick ass.

I have ankle high brown boots with a good 2" sturdy heel, and a zipper... they leak, I need more winter shoes... and a far far far too many summery sandals and such.

once I get a fat paycheck, I'm off to Payless, gonna treat myself to birthday shoe madness.

I agree.. it's like wearing a bracelet or ring that, on it's own, might not be SO special, but with the right-coloured blouse, the colour stands out.

ohhh, 4laterer, I feel your pain - I just took my favorite pair of black high heels, with a diagonal strap across the foot/ankle, to the salvo.... they were just too painful anymore, I think my feet have gotten bigger in the past year, since I wore them. But I want them back now!

yes it was getting out of hand

I threw out 7/8 pairs 2 weeks ago

saw them int he charity shop window, and felt like rushing in to buy them back

but I restrained

lol... I hear ya.

I had this pair of shoes that just hurt my feet (the heel was huge)... and so I gave them away... and then a week later, I longed for them, cus they'd looked so good with an outfit I was wearing.

I was always careful to take my shoes into my room with me whenver I slept over, instead of leaving them in the hallway

1st choice barefoot... 2nd, my Teva's, year round... when it's cold with my tiger socks. When it's snowing, hiking boots. Work, reebok walkers. Never, ever, ever heels...

I have two pairs of shoes, one pair of sneaker type things for me, and one pair of black leather shoes for the annoying people who think dressing up smart for the hell of it is a good thing. The first pair I wear all the time (except when I am at home, then I pad around in socks), the second pair I wear maybe once every few months.
