Woe is me!

I know I am not the first person in the world to have trouble finding shoes, but my latest venture into the aggravating world of shoe shopping has left me so exasperated I just hadta tell someone!!
Why is it that nobody makes cute or cool or otherwise attractive shoes for people with big feet?! I am (when not 6 months pregnant) a small woman with hobbit-sized feet....so the adorable little sneakers or strappy sandals that look so great on a shelf in size 6 1/2 are absolute BOATS when they bring out my size. And they never come in wide sizes.

It must be hard for cross-dressing men to find comfortable women's shoes......
Have any men who happen to wear women's shoes from time to time have any favorite brands or stores?

SHOES

YOU MIGHT TRY MASON SHOES THEY HAVE ALL KIND OF SIZES FOR MEN MAYBE THEY HAVE ODD SIZE SHOES FOR LADIES ALSO.:p

If I were you I would look up drag queens on google, and see if you can't find a good drag forum. I bet they have all kinds of good sources for shoes. I mean a girl has to have good shoes.

I hate shoe shopping too, tho I love shoes. I just bought a new pair of boots, in a size 11 ladies. Don't feel bad. I SO know how you feel.

:)

Oh Lord... I hate shoe shopping and my partner hates me shoe shopping even less! I know I bitch alot lol. I'm very short yet I wear a size 9-9 1/2 and I am a far cry from being femme. Plus I have wide feet so it's like hell finding shoes.

Speaking of... My tennis shoes suddenly are too small and my others finally fell apart so now I HAVE to go shoe shopping and make myself not buy boots ;)

eh, there goes my boot fetish again ;)

Shoe shopping isn't something I look forward to, either. Well, to be honest, I'm not much of a clothes shopper either.

Dustygrrl, I need new sneakers, too. But, I really have to be in the right mood to shop for them. I guess I should do that soon, though, since they are so worn. lol

It works the other way too..........

Akasha is a size 5, you can't buy size 5 in 90% of shoes..........

We have justed ordered some to be made after a year of being dragged in and out of shoe shops, I finally snapped.......I used to enjoy shopping!:D

We are going to Rome in Feb, and the first item on the agenda is the shoe stores and or cobblers......

So, yeah, I have complete and utter empathy on this one!

This is the ultimate in shoe links. It has stores, galleries, websites, etc, anything you need will be there.

I also like EBay when looking for deals

I hate clothes shopping too! I usually end up going to Old Navy and buying whatever men's clothes that they have on sale. Whatever looks sporty. I can't wear anything in the women's section, not that I would want to

I just don't like shopping lol. Jess doesn't either so that makes things interesting. We did go shopping yesterday and bought each other a few gifts. I

Yeah my sneakers did something wierd, the heel of them fell through to the bottom of my shoe.

:p

I didn't expect so much help and sympathy, but thanks to you all! I haven't been at my computer much lately (busy with the school and mom thing) so I was surprised to see so many replies!

I love shopping for shoes as it is perfect for my flashing fetish...I especially like the young girls who can't keep from looking up my skirt

I wear a women's 13 and a men's 11...NO CUTE SHOES!

Well, hardly ever. I found ONE pair of Mary Jane's and wore them twice before my dog ate out the back heel.

When we move south I'm taking a trip to San Fran and checking out the drag queen stores!

I love shoe shopping despite my size 10(ladies) feet. I tend to lean more toward stilettoes in boots and shoes. Although I have been known to wear a pair of wingtips when the mood strikes me.

If you're pregnant you probably want flats. I would go with steve maddens even if you wear a larger size the penchant for rounded toes and slightly square shape makes the foot look smaller. As a plus the designer makes all style flats from cute mary janes to the bowling shoe also the shoes come in wide. Some of the styles are unisex so if to get a guy pair it should be fine.

I guess I'm among the minority here - I LOVE shoes and shopping for them! And, no, I do not have the "perfect" foot. I'm a size 10 wide - though depending on how the shoe is made, I can sometimes wear a medium width.

I've had terrific luck with Payless Shoes, but I'm not certain just how wide spread they are. And I seem to be the only one of my friends who has much luck there as well!

I've also found a bargain or two on Ebay.

I know that times have certainly changed in the past 20 years, however. Back then (late teens/early 20s), shoe styles in size 10 were hideous! At least now it appears that manufacturers are trying. Problem is, I think most women have larger feet (9 and above), and shoes in those sizes disappear from the shelves faster. At least that is what quite a few shoe store sales people have told me. I think it helps to do your shoe shopping at the beginning of the seasons - late spring for summer, late summer for fall/winter, etc.

Good luck!

I hate shopping period. Perhaps its one of the reasons why I like the internet so much that I make my living off of it.

As for shoes, I wear a 13 1/2 EEE shoe. I give up trying to buy a shoe at that size. Most of what we have around here is too narrow for my feet. So I have to end up compensating by buying larger shoes just to get the extra width.

A huge selection, in all sizes is at http://mayashoes.com/

I love the "fearless flyer" collection, myself, which is pretty wild, but they also have casuals as well, again, in all sizes.
There are seven more pages in the fearless flyer just like this, and then several pages of any other category you can think of.

I'm in complete agreement with SexyChele. I'm a size 10 -or 11- W in womens and both Ebay and Payless are saviours. Ebay especially for anything a bit out of the ordinary. That's where I find most of my boots and higher heels. My ex-pet was 6'4" and I'm only 5'5" so I had to stock up a bit on heels and platforms, and that was my best resource.

And if you know a really nice shoppe, they may even special order sizes for you. I special ordered an utterly divine pair of thigh high Fluevog platforms at Noir Leather in Detroit, and although they were the most expensive shoes I have ever bought, I purrrrrr every time I wear them.

One of my first summer jobs was selling shoes in a mall. Sheer hell, until a guy brought in his wife to go 'shopping.' A good looking woman without panties can do a lot for a high schoolers job outlook. The husband kept asking me if I liked her in those shoes, or would I like to see her in something else. We tried on shoes for about an hour. I will never forget her tight red skirt, brown hair, and green eyes . . . Hey, Sqeeze, was that you?

Oh, I forgot....speaking of shopping on Ebay, as well as all the comments on drag queen sizes -- whenever you look at size 10 or above, you will DEFINITELY find items labeled drag queen. Some people may find it insulting, but I find it leads to more 'fun' searches :D

New Balance sneakers come in widths. But you have to go to a good shoe store to get the wider widths.

Frederick's of Hollywood also carries larger size shoes in wider widths.

Nicki, you'd look amazing in ANY of the collections, but I do like your taste! ;)

Only one Summer? I dragged out my part-time career in the shoe store through high school, college and for a couple of years after. It was the most entertaining job I ever had; besides the view benefit, I got lots of phone numbers and lots more sex than any of my buddies.
