Even since I first saw Mallrats I've been a huge Kevin Smith fan. I've followed his work, learned more and more about it, gotten all the in-jokes, etc. I watch the clerks cartoon even though I have the DVD.

So I was quick to download the trailer for Jersey Girl. Yes, it has Ben and Jen in it, but Kevin Smith made Shannon Elizabeth bearable, sexy even.

So I watch it. That movie is going to suck. Won't even be J-lo's fault.

You heard it hear first.

Not even that. Ben generally does his best in Smith's films.

I think it's the whole "I'm a new dad so I'm gonna make a movie about being a new dad for all the other new dads or something" syndrome.

Smith really should've pushed to have this flick in the theatres before Gigli.

He's alienated his fan base. And the whole idea of Ben and Jen putting butts in the seats is dead now, lol.

I'm a big fan of his work, but I'll wait for this to show up on cable.

On a movie forum that I belong to also we were discussing how Smith had made Jen's role bigger to captialize on their romance, but then cut it back to the origanial 15 mintues (she plays the wife who dies in the beginning of the film) after the Bennifer Bomb.
