Again, patiently, the poem hasn't a fucking thing to do with the statue or its intended meaning.
 
Regardless, Trump has the discussion on the front burner. People that weren't paying attention to how broken our immigration system was before are paying attention now.

What Trump is demanding is NOT unreasonable. The Democrats seem to think that running out of the meeting and blatting/bleating about what Trump said is somehow going to give them political leverage. And if Trump were the run of the mill politician that infests DC these days, they'd be right. But he's not one of those types. Trump is playing a different game by different rules and they can't seem to wrap their head around that fact. They are still playing by the same rules they made up decades ago.

Out of control immigration and lack of border enforcement is one of the major reasons Trump is where he is today. He's not going to back off.
