No they're not. Machetes are just short swords. If fixed blade and unconcealed not illegal. Technically anyways. Might get pinched for a weapon dangerous to public peace though. I bought sharp samurai blades in Toronto.

The Criminal Code is Canada wide. A federal responsibility.
