Do Americans on this board have any views on the shooting death of this American/Palestinian woman journalist (Al Jazeera) in Jerusalem. Normally you guys react quite strongly to the wrongful killing of Americans, even females, and even a Palestinian female, providing that she is an American.

PM Naftali Bennett while deploring the death of the Shirin Abu Aqleh accused Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas of blaming Israel “without concrete evidence.” He pointed to video footage of a Palestinian gunman boasting they had killed an Israeli soldier and showing a fallen body, but in fact, no soldiers were injured. The fallen body was therefore likely the late Shirin Abu Aqleh. The Palestinian Authority also rejected Israel’s offer of a joint autopsy to establish the truth. The incident has wide ramifications in that the correspondent was also an US citizen.

Shireen Bbu Akleh was shot during an Israeli military raid on Palestinian territory. She was unarmed wearing a flak jacket (denoting Press) and helmet before the shooting. The helmet was removed and she died instantly from a single shot to the head. Israeli forces will investigate the incident and report their findings to themselves.

When her body was being transported from the hospital, Israeli police first required that she be transported by car rather than be carried. When the pall bearers removed her body from the vehicle near the cemetery in East Jerusalem, where she lived, the armed Israeli police baton charged the crowd, seizing flags and beating the mourners. None of the mourners appears to have been armed in any of the many videos of the event. The Israeli police will investigate the conduct of the mourners and their own actions, and report back, firstly to themselves, and then to the responsible minister.

Diplomatic staff from many countries have expressed their concern over the original incident and again concerning the aggression of the Police at the funeral. Blinken voiced his concerns on behalf of the USA.

You need reasons, initial conditions and outcomes.
Everything in between has most eloquently been referred to as "the fog of war."
The journalists know, just like a cop, or a firefighter, that every time they jump into the fray, they are in danger.
