Dexter chuckled as his daughter confirmed that she wanted him alive and well. He knew she loved to joke and tease him, just like he did with her. It was also something that helped to strengthen their bond so much. He loved being able to joke around with his daughter, yet also have those serious moments.
When she hugged his hand to her chest, he felt warmth from it. She had always done that when she was happy and holding his hand. It showed how strong their connection was, as well as showing how comfortable she was with him. He loved that feeling. He laughed at the memory. "She was mad. Unfortunately it wasn't my fault. You've always gotten dizzy on those kinds of rides. A full stomach just lead to the inevitable," he said, squeezing her hand lightly.
"You pick a spot. I'll easily see you with our sodas, as you're the most beautiful girl here!" he said, smiling at the compliment. He smiled as he went to go get their sodas, a Dr. Pepper for him and a Coke for her. She did love her classics. He smiled at that thought before turning around.
He saw a few guys trying to talk to his daughter. He immediately went into father mode as he saw how uncomfortable she was. He walked over at a brisk pace. He stopped behind the kids, listening.
"Come on, don't say no. Why not go on a ride?" one of the boys said. He saw that his daughter wanted to say no before she saw him. He winked at her, smiling. He suddenly put a scowl on his face and stepped up to his full height.
"Excuse me, but you need to leave my daughter alone. I'd rather not get arrested for hitting children, but if you continue to act like that and not leave her alone, I'll be forced to remove you from her presence," Dexter said calmly, yet his voice dripped with threat.
He saw the boys turn around, and then see his size, before stuttering over an apology and taking off. "Well, that was fun, wasn't it!" he said, noticing his daughter's smile.
