for those who may have missed it first time around, the new sherlock is running on Alibi, 9pm thursday - season 1, no2 of 3 eps this week

cannot wait for the new series :(

they still haven't played it here. all we get is the lucy liu version.

perhaps it's too smart for your average american viewer. *tongue in cheek*

can't you get it online? you NEED to see these. all of them.

nah. it's probably the short season. they need more than three to make it a viable property because it has no replay value. hell, you can't even do a marathon with three episodes.

but, yeah, probably. maybe i should look. it's tuesday, after all. it's gotta be better than basketball or hockey or reruns of whatever doesn't make me want to kill myself.

It isn't series 1 !!! it's the first series!!!!

And

I only watch Quinn Martin Productions in color, a much better class of detective than some pot smoking, violin playing homsexual crackhead. IMHO.

ah well, each to their own. i personally believe this incarnation to be the very best. and i love how i can't figure most of it out so the surprises work.

Basil Rathbone rocked the part.

enjoy! and watch them in order. it's important.

well, yeah. it's what i was going to do anyway. i mean, unless there's a hot lesbian scene somewhere in there, but i would not. there's rarely a good sign. look at lip service. that fucker was full of 'em, but oh my god was it mediocre.

sure, that's probably not the best example since it was a show about lesbians, but i really hated it so it deserves it anyway.

in another era.

we're in the 21st century now, and this has been a masterpiece of casting, acting and script all coming together to bring it smack up to date yet managing to hold on to that core relationship between the main protagonists. imesho.

Baz and Nige (Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce) are the defacto standard with which to appraise any actor attempting to bring Doyles work to the screeen, Baz played down the drug fueled excess of Holmes whilst Nige camped up the role of Watson. If only Quinn Martin could have worked with those two gems.

It's all right, but not the best. Benedict would've been better playing the Eleventh Doctor, I feel.

exactly why i prefer the modern take over theirs, any day.

only when the screws ain't lookin :D
*snerk*

quite possibly. he's exceptional.

well all you oldies and those with fonder memories will like what you like; this thread was to let people know about series 1 ep-repeats. the only ones who'll watch them are those who like it so the rest of the thread's arguments are kind of irrelevant.
