Greetings all.....I once had the notion that a shared setting for stories would be interesting, this differers from a continuing single/shared story. My idea was that all adventures would take place aboard a cruise ship or at whichever port the ship was visiting. The authors could be crew members (no pun intended) and/or their created characters could appear in stories relating to said adventures, I see this bringing great possibilities for mutliple layered plots and scenarios.....One last suggestion, a ship's 'directory' be established to list needed facts and information about characters appearing onboard or at port locations....

An interesting idea, and one that I totally support! What you are suggesting is creating a small enclosed universe that can not only serve as the focal point of multiple stories by multiple authors, but also allow them to mix characters and situations, perhaps even combining stories after they end or "bump" into one another, so to speak. A concept very similar to the novel 253, which you can read more about at http://www.ryman-novel.com/.
What this would need in order to work is a seperate catagory on the story archive, with sub-catagories for settings and locations. For example: Confined Universe Stories>The Cruise>Deck 8. Definitely worth a try.
