I'm a self-described music whore. I love music of all kinds, I do virtually nothing w/o having music playing somewhere at some volume and the more music I have in my iTunes library, the happier I am. I often have people saying they'd love to have access to my iPod just so they could see what's on there.

That being said, I thought it might be fun to share playlists. In the interest of keeping it reasonable for those wanting to download your lists, I'd prefer to see them no longer than 10 songs. If you only post a portion, then just add a note requesting a PM be sent for the remainder of the list. Any background info on the playlist is nice to have and a title would be great.

Here's the one I'm currently listening to, to get you all started off:

I'm calling it Sociology Paper Blues, since that's what I'm stuck doing at the moment. It's good background music w/o being overtly distracting:

1. Velvet Mornings- Sonic Boutique
2. Cocktail d'Amour- Tape Five
3. Origami Crane- Trevor Hall
4. No Other Love- Chuck Prophet
5. Let It Be Me- Ray LaMontagne
6. Find a Way- SafetySuit
7. The Man Who Can't Be Moved- The Script
8. New Orleans Ladies- Tab Benoit & Louisiana's LeRoux
9. Beyond Here Lies Nothin'- Bob Dylan
10. Catch the Wind- Donovan

45 mins of mellow goodness...enjoy!

OK, I'll get you people to play along yet... ;)

Here's a playlist suited just for Lit:

Elsewhere, folks are posting lists of randomly generated song created by their iPods. I don't have one, so I used my car stereo's capability.

One caveat: Some of the songs were added to my player as a kindness to my beloved wife, and step-daughter. I won't say which ones, though.

Have Yourself A Non-Standard Little Christmas, Musically Speaking

Here's my attempt to compile a non-standard playlist of Christmas music - in this case, I take non-standard to be not just wholly original songs, but pleasingly quirky or original takes on what might otherwise be deemed "standards." Links are attached for your listening pleasure.

1. It's Christmas Time - Yo La Tengo (http://*******.com/yfl9zd5)
2. White Christmas - Damon & Naomi (http://*******.com/yf2wur7)
3. Santa's Coming Over - Low (http://*******.com/6ctx2m)
4. Taking Down the Tree- Low (http://*******.com/5fgdka)
5. Snowfall - the Ahmad Jamal Trio (http://*******.com/ykckkzn)
6. Are You Coming Over for Christmas? - Belle & Sebastian (http://*******.com/yz7a79u)
7. Sugar Rum Cherry - Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn (http://*******.com/yjddely)
8. Little Donkey - Camera Obscura (http://*******.com/yzemmar)
9. Christmas Song - Mogwai (http://*******.com/ya6nexs)
10. What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? - Ella Fitzgerald (http://*******.com/yjg4gxq)

I realize this list includes the rare "double-whammy" of Low songs, but I felt they were different enough to merit including both. And I apologize for the variety of formats in the links, but they should all be free for at least the first listen. Hooray.
=tt

p.s. Also, not the not-planned emphasis on the Scots. Good work, lads and lasses.
