Loads of my American friends never seem to be able to fit in a visit to the Globe when in London & I know that some on the boards haven't had the chance when in London, Tulip springs to mind.

So, FYI the Globe & a terrific play is coming to you, I hope that you enjoy:rose:

Twelfth Night Tour 2003

The Globe Theatre Company will commence its first coast-to-coast North American tour in October 2003, with its critically acclaimed production of Twelfth Night. The production premiered at the Globe during the award-winning 2002 Season of Cupid and Psyche.
Since Twelfth Night is an original practices production, the producers have chosen non-traditional venues which will capture something of the unique ambience of Shakespeare's Globe in London.

In keeping with Sam Wanamaker's vision and commitment to the education, exhibition and performance of Shakespeare - and to honour the 10th anniversary of his death – the producers also hope to extend the Globe’s residencies in each city to share the lessons learned in as many communities as possible.

There will be 12 performances of Twelfth Night at the Globe prior to the USA tour. For full listings of performance dates and times, please see the Schedule.

Yep. But the day after we went they were doing a matinee, the price I can't really remember but it seemed cheaper than the evening shows.

I've been threatened with death by Tulip if I don't take Canal Woman to see a full blown Shakespearean production...

I'm working on that at the moment for a Christmas present...

:)

Ahh! The direct & forthright approach, I like it:D The season's nearly over, try a couple that may still be on in the capital... The Globe finishes 28th Sept, 12th Night 2-12th Oct. Or the Propeller Company are doing a fab Midsummer's Night Dream at the Comedy theatre:)

:D no problem, all you have to do is promise to let me know what you think...

the globe is ok to go and see but they often just shows clips of plays rather than the whole play

The globe's been running full productions since at least 97/98... in 96 when they opened, they were only showing bits n' pieces:)

Wow. I remember the week I spent watching a play at the globe one night. Nothing says holiday excitement quite like Shakespeare.

It does have a great atmosphere:) Not sure how I'd feel if I went on a rainy day though:eek:

Season ends in a couple of weeks though - an additional few performances of 12th night will take them to 12th Oct (this year was all about regime change- state/family/marriage etc. Season of Star crossed lovers next year)
