~ I wish it would snow here too! We haven't had snow since last January (I think). At least not enough to even count as parcipitation let alone any amount that can be measured. I hate it here!

~ I was raised in DC, MD, and VA - and I love snow! I remember the winter of 1999 and into Jan/Feb. 2000 when I lived in Mass. It started to snow on the 20th of December and I was out Christmas shopping at Benny's. By the time I got to the car there was already three inches on it and it was still coming down. I was in Attleboro and had to travel to Rehoboth - about 15 miles, maybe 20. And the wind came up and started sweeping the snow into drifting swirls over the windscreen... and added some of the loose powder on the bonnet of the car into the mix as well.

~ It took me an hour and a half to travel those approximately 20 miles. The drive was snow covered with an ice coating underneath. I couldn't wait to get inside, make a cup of coffee or hot chocolate - and then go stand out on the back porch off the kitchen and watch it snow. It was an AWESOME sight!!

I miss snow so much. To me - that's what makes Winter and Christmas all the more enjoyable. And to snuggle in front of a roaring fire after a nice dinner with enjoyable company helps too! ;)

That drive would have scared me to death, but ya got to do what ya got to do....but once inside?..I would have done JUST what you did. A nice hot cup of coffee, some extra warm sweats or jammies, and snuggling up in front of a fire, watching the snow outside wreak havoc. I remember storms like that.

We used to get them all the time...but the past ten years or so have been rather mild. Ya know, I can't even remember the last time my daughter had a snow day!! I remember, as a kid, we used to have at least one a month in the cold months. When we get snow now, it's usually very little. Most of it comes now in the form of rain...and believe me, if some of those rain storms would have been snow?...they would have been doozies!!! At the risk of getting belittled, I miss those snowy times...very much. *sighs*

If she takes after her Momma she's gonna be a big un too.

~ I had a Calico when I lived in England and she was the most onery little ball of fluff I ever did see.

~ Is the Momma a mouser? If so - then the daughter should be too. Give her time Jake, she's just 8 weeks old right? This one of mine tries to prove he's a provider... except when it comes to mice. This fall he'd come out into the yard at night and then a few seconds later - you'd see him darting across the lawn with a baby mouse, hanging by its tail, dangling out of his mouth. Then he'd come and sit on the concrete patio, and let the mouse loose and chase it. The little fella would dart off the patio and there'd go the cat... after him again... and a few seconds later... here he came back with the mouse. It was his own personal toy. He never once bit it or hurt it. He'd just play with it.

~ I don't think I've ever laughed so hard.

The momma's a lush of a bar cat. I've shared more than a few beers with her whether I wanted to or not. She's a Maine Coon.

Oh you wanna hear one worse than that??

I have a Chow and she did that to one too -- imagine that big ole fluffy dog streaking through my yard after one and bringing it on the deck and letting it go and doing it all over again

~ Well I was scared too - but of the other drivers who'd pass by me doing the speed limit and taking chances. I was more scared of the driveway than the roads. On one side of the drive there was a concrete wall and on the other side - a steep embankment into a ravine.

I miss snowy times like that - very much - too. I'd go back to Mass or where ever they got lots of snow - in a heartbeat. To me, even though it's cold outside, Winter isn't Winter unless there's snow on the ground. And Christmas isn't Christmas without it either. Our ski area hasn't even opened in the last two years - maybe three - conditions have been so poor here. *heavy sigh*
