It was the night of the dark moon and a cool breeze blew through the city. The inhabitants slept soundly in their beds oblivious to the struggle between good and evil taking place at the very moment. An epic battle for the future of mankind...

"Watch out!" Shane shouted knocking fellow shadow hunter Tiffany to the ground as on of the werewolfs lunged at her. They both rolled several times before jumping to their feet. A few yards away Jeff struggled with three vampires at once. Each one growling with the thirst for blood. Another hunter by the name of Shelly faught valiantly for her life as a wraith tried to steal her soul.
They had already lost one of their friends to vampires that night and Shane didn't want to lose anymore The battle was not looking good for the good guys. They were outnumbered three to one and all of them were beginning to tire. This had been a trap, they had sensed a distrubance here that had seemed like a routine hunt. However the minute they stepped into the alley they were ambushed by over a dozen monsters. They had managed to kill most of them but more seemed to pop up out of no where.
Shane drew his sword slashing upwards at one of the vampires. It dodged the blow dancing to one side. Then it lunged at Shane. He sidstepped and swung again but his arms were tired and his sword lacked the normal precision. The vampire lunged again this time knocking the sword out of Shane's hand. Shane would have been a goner but suddenly the vampire burst into flames screaming in agony.
Jeff stood behind him bent over panting at the energy that small display of power had cost him. Usually he was able to do it with no problem but he was exhausted from all the fighting. Shane raised a hand in thanks but before he could say anything Jeff suddenly stood strait up a look of shock and horror on his face. Shane soon saw the cause, one of the wraiths had snuck up on him while he tried to catch his breath. It wrapped it's translucent tentacles around him sucking out his soul greedily.
Shane watched in despair as Jeff screamed then fell limp onto the ground. He would have to grieve later, right now he had to concentrate on getting the rest of his friends out of this one. He turned to join the fight just in time to see Shelly fall beneath a large group of werewolfs. He ran his sword raised high slashing at the wolfs dogding their claws and teeth. He managed to kill most of them off and wound the others.
Given a slight respite he knelt beside Shelly, her eyes fluttered open and she gave a weak smile. "It was fun" she murmured "I'm happy that we got to share our destinies" he shook his head fighting tears "you can't die, we have to save mankind remember?" She shook her head "We won't be saving mankind" she paused fighting for breath "but someone will" then with a sigh her eyes closed for the last time.
Sadly he stood up just in time to block a blow from a demon. He went into a rage then slashing wildly at the demon who stumbled back surprised by it's opponents sudden burst of energy. Shane's sword struck true through the creatures black heart and it fell to the ground in a heap. Then Shane swung around going after a group of vampires. He managed to killed about eight vampires and demons and werewolfs before his energy ran out and he fell to one knee.
An ear splitting scream brought his head up. His gaze saw Tiffany just in time to watch the demon throw her against the wall. She collapsed laying there for a moment before struggling to her feet. Shane tried to run and help her but had to stop and defend himself against the same wraith that had killed Jeff. Meanwhile Tiffany slowly climbed to her feet holding her daggers tightly in her fists as she faced the demon.
The evil thing chuckled and advanced on her. She was so occupied with the one in front of her she didn't see the one behind her until it was to late. The demon behind her grabbed he tightly holding her captive. She struggled, thrashing her entire body. However even with her iincredible strength she was held fast in the arms of the creature.
The demon she had been fighting approached her slowly a malevolent smile forming across his hideous face. "Shane!" she shouted desperate now in her struggles. Shane tried to get to her but he could seem to escape the wraiths, they had him surrounded now and yet they weren't killing him just containing him. why? The horrible answer dawned on him, they wanted him to watch Tiffany die.
He faught harder struggling to get to his friends aid but he knew it was hopeless. In the end Shane stood in the group of wraiths and watched as the demon's arm shot out and into Tiffany's chest. Her back arched and her mouth opened into a silent scream. The creatures arm withdrew and when it dead Shane saw that it held Tiffany's heart in it's hand. It looked right at him, the blood red eyes meeting and holding his and it slowly ate the heart it held.
Shane was numb as he watched this. His grief so intense that he felt nothing but emptiness. He snapped back to reality as the wraiths began to close in. Now they would take his soul. Not if he could help it! He lifted his sword and shouted "You haven't seen the last of the Shadow hunters! One day we shall destroy you!" just then a voice spoke. One that literally dripped with evil.
A man stepped forward, or at least it once was a man. He was tall with black hair, his eyes were only an endless pit of black. Shane immediatly knew who it was, Darius. "I see you know my name, I'm flattered" Shane glowered at him. "You and your friends have been nothing but troublesome to me. Now that you are all dead I can continue with my plan uninterupted."
Shane shook his head "You bastard! Their will be more of us and even if you kill them we will keep coming until we destroy you and all that you stand for!" Darius shrugged "I will kill them all just as I have killed you and your friends" he yawned "This idle chatter bores me" he motioned to the wraiths "As you were" then he turned and with a blink of an eye he was gone leaving Shane to his death.
Shane looked at the wraiths closing in and was determined not to give them any satisfaction. With a twist of his wrist he pointed his sword to his chest. "We will be avenged!" then with a grunt he thrust his sword up and through his heart. The world spun and he fell rolling over onto his back. He was content to know that in the end the evil would not prevail. He closed his eyes and began to drift. Then with one last shuddering breath he died.
Now to all mortals who looked upon this fight it seemed as if the worlds hope was gone. Little did they know that though the souls of the fighters were gone the spirit of the hunters remained. They shot from their previous hosts into the night sky in search of those chosen by destiny...

Raven hurried down the dark street praying she wasn't to late. Her brother Darius had left earlier that night and she knew he was up to something. She was determined for it not to happen. She picked up her pace when she heard a scream in a nearby alley. Ever since her brother had changed Raven had been trying to find a way to save him. She knew it really wasn't him doing all these horrible things. However she didn't know who it was. Only that he was incredibly powerful but not powerful enough to stop her brothers love for her. She could see it whenever he looked at her, his eyes lightened somewhat and a flicker of the old him would shine for a moment. That small flicker gave her all the hope she needed to fight this evil. She knew she was born to fight evil, it was something she felt. Raven had been born with special abilities. She was more agile and stronger then most and was able to move things with her mind. The main abilitie of hers though was she was able to soul search. What that meant was all she had to do was touch someone and she could enter that persons body and talk to their soul first hand. She had tried this with her brother and had been in a coma for a year afterwards. Her brothers soul was kept imprisioned deep within his body. She was nearing the alley now and everything was quiet. She stopped and peered around the edge and gasped in despair. Their was carnage everywhere, but the death that caused her gasp were those of the hunters. All of them lay littered across the alley, all violently murdered, one with his own sword. She walked slowly into the alley clenching her fists in anger. It was her fault, if only she had gotten here in time. She fell to her knees praying for the lives lost here. Suddenly there was a bright flash, she sheilded her eyes from it trying to see what caused it. A spirit... not an evil one but one that soothed her floated in front of her. When it spoke it's voice was melodic and pure calming Raven and bringing an end to her pain. "Raven you were chosen by destiny, you are worthy" then without another word the spirit burst forth and entered Raven's body.

He grimaced as he looked down into the alley. With the hunters dead, the others had been summoned back into the little holes they'd come out from, but he'd been left to watch the mess. He muttered to himself, shifting him weight to his right foot. He'd leaned on his left during the entire fight, watching.

He was on the side of evil, true, but he was a minor evil. He could fight, granted, but was of little worth in such slaughter. He spread his wings, waiting to be detected, as he knew he would. Best to see how she reacts. Although panic would only be a good sign for a small amount of time, it was an edge, he supposed.

Besides, he had a job to do, and do it he would.

Raven's eyes fluttered open and she groaned as she tried to stand up. She felt different now, a strange sense of being complete filled her. Standing up strait she glanced around at the carnage wondering if the bright light that entered had been only her imagination. If she wasn't mistaken it had been a a hunters spirit. That would mean she was a hunter now.. how could this be? She sighed, it was humerous really that she the sister of such an evil man would be one of the chosen to fight that very evil. She froze suddenly, there was something watching her. Glancing around she sensed eyes, evil ones. Backing up she scanned the area looking for the threat.

He crouched on the top of the building to her left, looking down into the alley. He pulled the pack of cigarette's from his shirt pocket, and pulled one out. He stood up as he tucked th pack away, pulling the dull metal lighter from his right front pocket. He flicked it open, and lighted his cigarette before closing it with a satisfying 'click'.

He spread his wings wide, letting the lighter fall into his pocket as he took the first deep draw on the cigarette. Helooked at her through his sunglasses, almost wanting to introduce himself. He turned his attention outward.

The one would be coming soon. He bent his legs, and pushed himself off from the building into the air. His wings held out to catch the night. He took the cigarette from his mouth, releasing smoke into the crisp air as the burning thing fell through the air towards the alley below.

"Until another night.....Hunter."

Raven heard a click up on the rooftops somewhere and spun around just in time to see a dark shape leap into the air. Her attention turned to another object slowly floating downward, a ciggerette it looked like. It landed in a puddle and immediatly it was put out. Looking back up in the direction of the shape she had a strange feeling she would be seeing him again.

Valkir

He looked up at the cold, dark sky with a grotesque smile on his face. Reaching up with his left hand, he wiped the slime-like sweat from his brow, and threw it down on the corpses that laid before him.

It has been a good night, a night the like of which are too far between

He slowly pulled the colourless scimitar in his right hand up to his face, and quietly ran his tongue up the length of the blade.

The taste of victory gets better with age

Looking to his left he saw the head of a small demon laying face-down on the ground.

He should have known not to be so close when the killing blow swingith

He chuckled to himself at the young demon's misfortune. With a quick survey of the corpse's, he was satisfied no life existed in this place anymore. He slowly backed into the shadow of the cold brick wall, and with a motion only detectable the ruffling of the scattered papers along the ground, he was gone.

Santiago

*Santiago stumbled along the street, not really knowing where he was going. He just knew he was hurt, bad. He did the only thing that really registered in his mind and that was to keep walking. Maybe he'd get lucky and find a hospitol or something. Or maybe a rarely seen cop on this side of the neighborhood might actually give a rats ass about a bloody and damn near dying hispanic man. But, as usual, it was to no avail. Santiago kept walking leaning on the wall for support and though a few people passed him by they just grimaced a bit and moved away from him. They wanted nothing to do with him, they knew he was probably some gang hoodlum and if so, they didn't much care for him. But Santiago was a fighter, a scrapper to the end. He never gave up, not ever. And so he kept stumbling, until he walked into a dark alley to sit alone, and meet his end, peacefully. He slumped down and leaned against a large dumpster with a sigh as he hit the ground. He crossed himself and said a small prayer hoping his grandmother would be happy wherever she was now, and he closed his eyes waiting for the darkness to overcome him. Much like in the stories, he saw a bright light appear in front of him, and he reached for it. It was his time, he knew it. So he called to the light and told it that he'd accepted his lot in life. He just hoped he coulda prevented something like from happening to other innocents, and with a sigh he slumped waiting for the light, and then it spoke.*

"Your not going to die. Your going to live, and your going to do exactly what you just wished for. Life is hell buddy, now get ready to REALLY live it. Your a hunter now, if somewhat tarnished, but your worthy. I'll take you."

*And with that, the light shot into him and joined with him, enhancing his abilities and granting him new ones. Making him far stronger than before, and right before his eyes his wounds began to close and heal, a new ability, regeneration. That could come in handy. Within a few minutes he was whole and re-energized. He didn't really understand what had just happened but he wasn't gonna argue, so he got up and walked back to his little studio apartment and lay down on his couch with a sigh. It wasn't more than ten minutes that he started to close his eyes and then the phone rang. Picking it up he didn't really say anything. He didn't have to. All he heard was a strange voice on the other end.*

"I know what has happened to you, I'll be over in five minutes, pack anything you intend to keep, life's about to get...interesting. Your training begins tonight."

*He didn't know what to think when the phone went dead, but for some reason he took the advice and packed up his few belongings and waited until he heard the knock on the door, opening the door he saw a dark figure who held out it's hand.*

"I'm the scout. Welcome to the fold. Now lets go."

*Santiago just gave a nod, shook this persons hand and followed him out into the night. Interesting indeed.*

Ooc: Call, I'm not ignoring your post, I just want to grab Raven first. Once I have her, I'll be right over.

He glanced up at the night sky. It was pretty, even in the city. One couldn't see all the stars, but a few of the brightest still shone down. As if to tell everyone that they are still there. A couple hundred lamps turned on can't stop a couple of galaxies from being known.
"Don't worry," he said to the woman, "You're safe for a while."
Scout took a glance at her, really eyeing her up and down. She might have interpretted it as looking at her body, lusting ater her. It was a simple glance at the soul though, not the body.
"Oh, Saria, I hope you didn't choose this one cause it was closest."
Somewhere, between her breasts, inside her chest, he saw his answer.
"Ahhhh, that's it. Yes, it was a good choice. You'll do just fine my dear."
He then lookd up at her. Those wild eyes staring back at him. He could understand why. He must look God awful to her, a tall man, in a trenchcoat, looking at her as if she were a piece of meat.
Something inside was calling to him though, this he knew. He always knew.
"Come my dear, we must leave this place. Others are waiting, and there is much to be done."
He held out his hand.

Raven eyed the man suspiciously feeling as if she knew him somehow. She remembered one night when she had been listening to her brothers conversation when he had cursed someone called the scout, saying he always seemed to find more hunters. Could this be him, kind of unimpressive if you ask me she thought to herself. "So you must be the scout, am I right?" she accepted his hand already sensing his answer. When he hand touched his she ran a soul search seeing if she could sense his intentions. One could never be to careful, when she saw his soul for the first time something inside her changed. It was different from any she had ever encountered. Frightened by her feelings she jerked back into her body and looked at the ground refusing to meet his eyes. "Well lets go then."

Scout gave a stiff sort of nod, turning away from the massacre from him. Dozens of dead bodies now rotting slowly into the street.
With one found, the others would be soon to follow. The spirits jumping, even now. One didn't seem to far away. He closed his eyes, contacting the man with his mind.
Although, to the man it iddn't seem that way. To the man, it was as if he had called on the phone. Didn't want to scare him too much the first day.
On the corner of the alleway, stretching out to the street was a huge black car. Scout pulled over into the driver's seat, opening it for raven behind him.
They drove silently through the streets. In the wee hours of the morning, there was hardly any traffic, which made things much easier. A 20 minute drive could have easily took an hours or two.
He pulled up to a small apartment, knocking on the door. As he had predicted the man was ready to leave.
Scout turned his head, looking up into the night sky.
"Another," he whispered, before turning back, "Well, come on. There's a lot to do tonight, and we've barely even begun."

Raven stayed silent as she watched the scout work. He was calm and business like the entire time. She wondered what he was like before he became the scout. That would be a very long time ago she thought to herself. They stopped at an apartment where the scout picked up a young man who looked very confused. Lucky for Raven she had known what happened to her, this guy must be completely at a loss. She smiled encouragingly at him.

After a day of hunting, Shadow returned to the inn he signed into

"Your room is number 212. next to your friends."

"Thanks"

Shadow walked up to his friends room then knocked on the door "Its me."

"Its open!"

Shadow walked in "Remind me to nail that inn keeper!"

"Any luck?"

"Not yet. But I'm going out again at night. It seems they like at night now a days"

Thallock

The demon was sitting in a small room, puffing away at a cigarette. The oldies were blaring over an old stereo as he typed at a computer. Spreading paranioa, mistrust for the government, and Illuminati propoganda.

He sang along along as the music played, Just all-around being an annoyance. He turned aroundin his chair, looking at the world through thick sunglasses. He stood up, knocking the ash from his cig into an ashtray on the computer desk. He frowned, and reached a hand up, brushing his hair around one of the great ram horns protrouding from his head.

More Hunters. More killing. More meetings. More, more, more. The song changed, but he barely noticed, bust comtemplating his existance. It came more frequently now, worry over what he'd gotten into. He shrugged it off. Evil was evil, right?

He sat down, and turned back to his screen. Oh, an instant message. Grinning to himself, he busied himself, making yet another poor sap paranoid, ultimately making them destroy their own lives. Humans were so easy to manipulate.

"Comming Mai?"

"No not this time. I know how you are when you are on a extream hunting spree"

"Funny Very funny!"

Shadow slowly walked down the stairs, thinking 'A littel slow on hunts today. Wonder why all the demons are hiding?'

"Leaving so soon?"

Shadow turned around "Yeah got some work to do... that reminds me..." WHAM!!!

Shadow quickly nailed the inn keeper to the wall "Now you got two choices ass hole! One, you tell me where the demons are to night and maybe live. or two keep quiet and get your ass turned to a bloody pulp!!!"

The keeper screams in utter pain, but was still able to talk "I-in the ally, six blocks from here!"

"Good... to bad you were so slow!"

With an sickening thud in the gut. Shadow Inpailed him with a huge blood stained sword "Got any thing to say demon?"

"...g.a..h..a...l...a"

"What?"

It was too late to get a answear, the demon was dead

" I don't think it was important any way...''

Shadow took the blade out and left the door

Valkir

He could never enjoy for long the pleasure of the kill. It wasn't the horror of what he'd done, no, not at all... for this was pleasurable. It wasn't the site of the mutilated bodies, no... this was a site he enjoyed like no other. It wasn't the memory of screams and blood splattering, for these were like a flowing symphony to him. No, it was none of these things... none of them at all. It was the smell.

Not the smell of death, not the putrid stench of his battle soaked body, it was the other smell. Everytime he killed it was the same, and tonight, it was worse. It was the smell of the souls sweaping through the air. Off to find another. He could smell them, almost taste them, on the thin city air, but he could not see or track them. He could not follow them and destroy them before they reached a new host. He had to wait again in the shadows. For every kill he made, his insatiable desire for more was raised a little higher, and tonight it had taken an overwhelming leap.

There was not he could do tonight though. Tonight, as exhuasted as he was, he would spend in the shadows, cursing at the wind, stabbing at the soft whispers of the night... tomorrow night it would start again, but tonight? No. Tonight was for his torture.

Samuel

Samuel cursed under his breath at the taxi driver. Who would have thought that he would have found the only taxi driver in the city that could get lost. His luck seemed to be holding as he arrived in the alley. There were many dead bodies strewn over a landscape of blood. Samuel sighed as he saw his chance to get to the demon that killed his parents slip away like the blood draining into the gutter. He looked for any sign of life, but it was abundantly clear that nothing had survived this battle.

Samuel decided that it was time to leave, he did not want to be in the alley when the police got there. Too many questions that he would not want to answer. He was walking to a phone booth, when his legs buckled. His body went numb as he fell to the ground. His eyes rolled up in his head for a few minutes as his body got used to another presence . He slowly sat up , shaking his head to try and clear it .

"What do you call yourself? If we are going to be partners, we need to know each other. "
Samuel looks around to see who is addressing him, his cloudy vision not helping matters.
"No , you dont understand, I am not around you. I am inside of you. "
Samuel wonders if he hit his head harder than he thought. What the hell was wrong with him.
"Nothing is wrong with you, my last spirit name was Jeff, I am , or was a shadow hunter. As you are now. You have been choosen to help rid the world of evil, a sacred mission that has been going on for many hundreds of years. "

Samuel stops and absorbs what has just been said. This was a way for him to avenge his parents death. It seems that life was not without an ironic side to it. "Ok, I am all with that mission. What do I do? "

The spirit says to Samuel "Go back to your home and rest for some time. The scout will find you and bring you into the fold. "

"Ok, lets go back home, any chance that I can fly now that I have you to help me?"
"No, that is not one of the things that you gain with us. However, you will be able to run faster and for longer. I can read in your mind where your home is. Come , lets set the pace and get there. "
Samuel agrees with the voice in his head. "Agreed, lets get home, tell me more about this on the walk. "

Karen was driving the streets slowly in her police cruiser, keeping an eye on the activity and making sure things were staying peaceable. Identifying the streets, the buildings, she couldn't help remembering her own youth, growing up in this area.

Images and memories flickering in her mind. Herself as a little girl in pony tails bringing a stray kitten to feed. Rushing outside with a loaf of bread and some peanut butter for a homeless man. The wail of far off sirens and she prayed everyone would be safe. Her mother standing on a street corner waiting for her boyfriend for the next hour, fishnet stockings, short violently pink skirt and the street lights gleaming dully off her bleached hair.

Her lights cutting through the night, Karen saw the glint of a blade just in the entrance of an alley. Turning her car so the headlamps illuminated the scene, Karen froze in horror at the carnage before her.

As she sat, stunned at what was before her, a bright light came down and entered her vehicle. Before she could do anything, the light seemed to enter her. She shuddered in reaction, but felt somehow comforted, that the destruction she was witnessing had all been for the greater good.

Karen hesitated, for some strange reason she didn't want to call for backup just yet. She sat in her car, the lights steady on the still, dead forms and waited.

Alexzander's fall

Alexzander slowly walked between the marble statues that dotted the hallway. All of them depicted the victories of hell over the milleniums. From the snake that offered the fruit of the tree of knowledge to Eve, to the more recent priest scandal in the mortals' Catholic church, all were immortilized in stone, testament to the prowess of demons in coruppting the hearts of men. Alexzander smiled, his eyes taking on a pleasant blue hue as he thought about all of his exploits over the last 3000 years.

Alexzander snapped out of his reverie as he approached the throne, noting with some dismay that not only was his demon prince present, but he had several lackeys with him. Upon further inspection, Alex saw that they were his own minions, assigned to aid him in his mission on Earth. As Alexzander reached the dias, he stopped in front of the demon Prince and bowed low.

"I have come as you requested, my Prince"
"As you were, my servant," the demon's words game out as a low growl, barely intelligable, not the best sign that this was going to be a good meeting. Alex straighted up and put on his best confident look in the face of what he knew could be a disaster.
The demon Prince stood up and took a step toward Alexzander. "I have been hearing some rather disheartening tales of your recent exploits." The demon's eyes narrowed as he studied Alex, "What is your mission on Earth?"
Alex, bowed respectfully, "To corrupt the hearts of humans, and win their souls to the side of Hell."
"Exactly!" the demon roared, slamming his clawed fist onto his throne, "and how many souls have you sent me this year?"
Alex had known this question was coming, and hoped he could explain well enough to avoid the Prince's wrath. "None so far, my lord." Alexzander took a deep breath "but i have several..."
"Enough!" the demon's roar cut off Alex in mid sentence. "I did not summon you here to make pathetic excuses." The demon slowly started to circle Alex as he continued to speak. "I have heard from your minions what you have been up to. You have been spending all of your time in the company of a single angel. Isnt that right?"
"Well, yes sir, i have been attempting to..."
"I said no excuses! Your assignment is to convert souls, not consort with the enemy!"
"But, my Lord," Alex desperately attempted to regain control of a situation that was rapidly spinning out of his hands, "one angel is worth hundreds of souls. Think of the information she might provide us about the Heavenly Host!"

The demon stopped its circling directly behind Alexzander. Alex shivered as he felt the demon Prince's fetid breath on his skin, and hoped fervently his last plea had swayed his master. The demon paused for a long while, then spoke softly.

"You are hearby relieved of your duties on earth. You will be stripped of your power, and cast down into the fire pits as penance for your disobedience." The statement barely had time to register before Alex felt something pressing into his back. His back arched and he let out a bloodcurdling scream as he felt the demon's hand pushing through his skin, into the center of his being, his very soul. He felt the hand grasp some part of him, and he shook with pain as it was ripped out of him. As the hand pulled free of his body, Alex collapsed to the ground and managed to look up at his tormentor. The demon prince stood above him with an evil grin on his face. In his hand he held a dark, multifaceted crystal that seemed to shimmer slightly in the dull orange light. Without even thinking, Alex recognized it as part of his soul, part of the power within him.

"Get him out of my sight..." the demon prince turned and walked away as Alexzander slowly lost consiousness...

*Santiago just kind of gave a nod and slung his backpack over his shoulder, somehow knowing he was supposed o follow this scout guy. He didn't really know why, or understand it either, but his gut was tellin him to go. Or was that the burrito he had earlier. o_O Anywho, he shrugged and just followed along. Seeing some chick waiting outside as well, he lifted his head in a silent greeting to her, again not knowing this girl or this dude who was taking him somewhere. He was just along for the ride til he could get some answers.*

Scout opened the door, when a small breeze caught him. He glanced up, his eyes darting off to something no human could see. As if he were listening, but it had nothing to do with his ears. After a moment he nodded, muttering unnder his breat.
"Well," he got in, closing the door and starting up the engine, "It seems as if it is just you two for now. The others want a few hours alone with themselves."
Some of them liked to get to know their new souls for a little bit. Others simply wanted to get back at into the training. The hunter's spirits were restless inside them, eager to get the demons that had killed their last bonded.
He drove for another half hour, until he stopped at an apartment complex in the south of town. He motioned for them both to follow as he walked upstairs, and opened one of the doors (307, for anyone who wants to know).
Inside, he took off his long black trenchcoat, letting it fall over one of the wooden chairs. For an immortal soul searching being, it was actually a pretty modern and dull place. One couch, a couple of ragular chairs surrounding a small table, recessed kitchen, and a few closed rooms further into the place.
"Make yourselves at home. Any of you hungry or thirsty? I'm not the best cook in the world, but I can make some pretty mean scrambled eggs when I'm forced."
He gave a small smile, glancing at the both of them. Confusion and eagerness staring back. Looking into their eyes he could see the two souls, still seperate. He'd have to fix that soon enough.
Which one of them would be first though?

Seth Benson

A new life: I was walking in the park along with my parents. The night air was very cold and crisp, just perfect for a walk through the park. We had just walked around one of the big rock formations when my dad's head started darting around."Dad what's wrong", i ask him, but he just ignore's me. Then I see him stop moving his head and he focused on one place. I looked up to see a man sitting on the rock but there was something diffrent. I could tell by looking closer that he had horns or something coming out of his head. Then in one swift move the thing had jumped down and grabbed my mother. My father tried to reacte but before he knew what happend my mother was dead. I could see the blade of the weapon sticking from the other side of her body. My father seeing this site pulled out a knife that he had in his trenchcoat. The next minute was a stand off between the thing and my father. Then I saw them charge at each other and they both impaled each other on impact. I looked on in horror as my father's body slump over. I ran over to his body and held him in my arms and started crying. After about an hour like this I decided that I had to call 911 or somebody. As I started to walk away I felt a sudden wave of security hit my body. I felt warm and a calm peace. it almost felt like somebody or something was consoloing me from the inside. I made my way to a telephone and called 911 and they came and got my parents. I left before they showed up and decided to clear my head with a walk.

Karen felt faint, images both dreadful and triumphant flickered through her mind faster than she could grab them. She gradually began to feel a growing sense of purpose - she could feel an ember within her stir and ignite. She felt her Destiny become real in a way it had never been before. She was special. She was on a quest. She would experience things beyond her current knowledge. She felt a strange kinship to some mysterious "others" who shared her destiny.

With a suddenness like the crashing of a gong her vision blurred, she saw double then merged again, and she knew that she was no longer on her own, something linked her to many pasts and would link her to a future unknown and that she was somehow... Special.
