An ice cold, inky rip in the fabric of reality appears in a shadowy corner of the Personals section of existence. Out of the blackness steps Shado’s strange form, along with an old-school, scarred, high-top bar. Many stools line it. Every concoction to get one fucked up possible lies on numerous shelves behind it. A giant sign proclaims Shado's Stray Saloon. He vapes a bowl, puffing fragrant steam.
His movements are silent, his large, furred, pointed ears moving about to catch the various conversations, ever alert, curious, and looking for danger. Light gleams on the cream and pale gray fur, broken up by black rosettes, that cover his body and forms his long, thick, plush tail when it appears, rarely, from beneath his concealing garb as he walks, but is absorbed by the male form's apparel, which seems to change and blend subtly with his surroundings. He is mostly humanoid in shape, with strong hints of a Snow Leopard. These hints are in the way he moves, his mannerisms, his slight muzzle, thick fur, tail, and ears. He would commonly be known as a Snow Leopard anthromorph to people of certain circles. His garb is simple, sturdy, and made of variegated patches of color: all deep greens and greys, darkest blues, charcoal and matte black, which break up his outline significantly and magically adapt to his surroundings; which are particularly handy. Various blades are tucked here and there about his person, concealed but within easy reach. His clawed hands show the callouses of a lifelong knivesman. He orients himself, searching the crowd warily before shadow-stepping, this time to the empty stage, once more stepping from the shadow portal, though this time it stays open behind him.
He pushes back his hood with one hand while grabbing the microphone with the other, revealing stormy blue eyes that don't quite make eye contact with anyone, and a somewhat shy, nervous smile. He clears his throat before his smoky voice fills the room. "Evenin, y'all. We got every concoction under every Sun and Moon far as I know. The Pan-galactic Gargleblaster will blow your mind, and is a universal favorite. The bar is right here, and open. We serve anyone looking for company, friendship, and perhaps more. It is a personal area. This is where I shall hunt for my Lifemate. However, I also seek friends as part of my personal. Hence this space. In a world of dream and make believe, we can all be anything. Some post threads for skype or kik or whatever… Here’s a place for those who might identify as anthro in a different time and place. Also, as the Saloon’s owner is a Bi switch, it only makes sense such themes may manifest. All are welcomed, especially diverse discussion, but intolerance is on the no entrance list. Drama is right there with its sibling in the no-go list...”
He grins “This is a place for romantics. A place for jokers, and midnight tokers. Shado is back in town, at your service, and still as single as last season. I’m a Yank, too. I'm a bit weird. I am a 31 year old single Aspie who lives in the Northeast.
"An Aspie is a person with Asperger's Syndrome, which is on the Autism spectrum. Wikipedia has a pretty good article. This diagnosis has several symptoms, and is defined by a clustering of a certain number of symptoms. My own symptoms include, but are not limited to: narrow interests and attention span, trouble reading body language and making eye contact, understanding social cues and norms, a propensity for verbosity and eclectic, archaic, highly stylized speech patterns and words, some issues with empathy, physical clumsiness, an aversion to being in crowds, and sensitivity to touch, light, and sound. One of the biggest stumbling block symptoms is that I can come off rude, abrupt, or offended/ing when I'm really not trying to be; just as I can come off as know-it-all at times. I have thought of becoming a Professor frequently. Being blunt with me is a good thing. I don't get subtlety, and I'm extremely unlikely to be offended by honest, constructive, criticism. In fact, I crave it because it helps me improve, so always feel free to point out anything, just like if I manage somehow to offend. How can one know if it isn't pointed out? I rarely mean to offend, and usually have no idea until things have gone too far, but if you point things out I'm pretty decent at staying in boundaries."
He looks around, forcing himself to make eye contact as he tries to gauge the various reactions he is getting, though his eyes occasionally stray away, his tail twitching nervously, as he continues. "I'm here because of my narrow interests. I have been reading as long as I can remember; and writing since I was ten. I have done most of my writing in the srp formats. I prefer very detailed, multi-paragraph style RP. I have one or two minor solo works on lit that have been well received, but my writing has mostly been one-off-just-for-fun collaborations, and school work. I want to be a well-known novelist, but am shooting for at least a Bachelor's degree so I can pursue a career in editing. My unique traits make me particularly well suited to such a field. I love to play video games and seek my Lifemate. (Yes the L is correct. To me it is a title that encompasses many things.) I want what most heroes and Disney nobility seem to find. This may be because I, like my favorite animals, have been alone a lot, but also because there are just some things worth believing in and hoping for. I want to find her even more than I want to become a worldwide writing sensation known for exemplary scifi, fantasy, and erotic adult fiction."
"I'm a storyteller, a cynic, a creature of the crossroads, the grey places of existence, and a hopeless romantic. I was, am, and will be Lit’s alliterative, lascivious, loving Leopard. I love learning new things, particularly mythology and other stories, other peoples' truths and perspectives and styles. I'm one semester from obtaining my Bachelor's degree at my current pace. That’s about all I got. If you’re intrigued, come say hi. Or if you’re just bored and thirsty. If you’re really intrigued, send me a PM, and I can give you a guided tour of the back as we discuss whatever you wish.”
The rest of the Saloon begins to materialize, a few stories of warm, clean, well-lighted, coziness, where most anything might happen, if one dare but step into its welcoming doubled doors.
