Me: South Bay, 50s m.
While at this I thought I'd bring up a little idea I've had for some time: I imagine there are quite a few guys and hopefully also a few females out there that are fantasizing about finding someone for no strings attached enjoyment, ranging from just having a lunch mate for philosophical discussions to more intimate fun. The trouble of course is risking meeting a mostly unknown and unseen person after having had only online conversations.
So the idea I have is to arrange an anonymous group get together through LIT at a semi-busy place where people naturally mingle (say the Rosewood Hotel bar on Sand Hill Rd). Part of the deal is that everyone in the group knows about a fictitious group affiliation with a neutral name - say the "Johnston Group" (that are heavily involved in the study of the American Pike should anyone ask).
So you get there, buy a beer/glass of wine/drink and scan the surroundings for a lonely person who might be there in the same business, and if he/she has enough attraction, walk up to him/her and ask if he/she is with the Johnston Group. Either the person has no clue what you're talking about. No shame, end of the story. If OTOH he/she is a group invitee, he/she might either say a straight yes and you'll be on to something or could just as easily say no, making him/her indistinguishable from the rest of the crowd while potentially leaving him/her some time to check you out a bit better before possibly coming back later.
Would really love to hear what people think about this! If there's enough interest in this it would be really cool to give it a try.
