My wife and I went to Costa Rica over New Years 2002. Stayed up by Arenal (active volcano, hot springs), Monteverde (Cloud Forest, rain forest) and Jaco (kind of a surfer dude paradise). All were condusive to a lot of "outdoor action"! Lots of freedom and privacy. Fucked like rabbits in heat. I highly recommend it.

Hedonism ain't all that it's cracked up to be, lots of wild and crazy people but the facility is kind of scruffy----

I would go with the cruise idea any day.
