I need to ask other BBW, and maybe some gentleman who know....being a BBW myself, I've had sooooo much trouble finding sexy bras in my size (44DD). The ones I find either look like lunch lady bras or only come in white, black, or tan. I need to know where I can find, at some store or on-line, some sexy things for myself because I want to feel beautiful and attractive for my man and to myself.

I think the problem with buying online is fit. As I'm sure you've noticed, fit varies widely, depending on brand, style and fabric. So, I wouldn't go that route immediately; instead, I'd try bras in the stores, write down brands, styles, numbers and sizes, and look for a better deal online if the store price was too expensive.

I've never had a problem finding pretty bras in my size at discount department stores like Ross and TJ Maxx. I don't find something I like every time, so I go frequently and always look through the lingerie when I'm there shopping for something else. It can be time consuming, but with very nice bras for under $10 (usually $4-7, actually) and panties under $3, I find it to be well worth it.

Lane Bryant has some nice bras that fit very well, but they're expensive, so you probably want to watch the sales and look online after figuring out the sizing in the store.

Today I went bra shopping with a friend at Macys and JC Penny. Macys had a crappy selection. Boring colors and none my size. Found 3 nice ones at JC Pennys, all for only 20 bucks. Very happy about that. Then later at Walmart I bought 3 more that were much more colorful. But I still can't find a sexy red bra anywhere. I might have to go on-line for that.

I realise this is an english site, so the sizing may be different but www.simplyyours.co.uk is part of a catalogue network ran over here in the uk that specialises in underwear and they go up to some very big sizes.

I congratulate you on your good luck at Ross Erika - I used to check there periodically but maybe the one where I live is a crappy one - very little luck in my case. I've had fairly good success at Lane Bryant, but the only one close to me is an outlet store, so the selection and colors are limited. Usually a few in black, white, pink, or tan. Rarely anything else, but I do trust they will be well made and fit comfortably.

I found a Playtex Secrets bra (underwire) in size 40DD and I L O V E it! Unfortunately, it seems to have been discontinued. Beautiful color, straps that stay up without digging, exceptional fit. I wish I'd bought ten of them.

I've searched on-line numerous times for pretty bras in larger sizes and usually end up disappointed. Lots of bras in my size, but not practical - tiny shoulder straps, clearly not designed to hold boobs the size I have up comfortably, two-hook closures (for real? come on bra manufacturers!), in short, bras designed for a smaller figure just made a little bigger in the cup size.

I did find a nursing bra that was beautiful and lacy, very comfortable and yet sexy looking. It only came in white, so I hand-dyed it. I can't remember where I found that.

In short, I have no good advice to offer, am in the same boat and mostly end up just buying something that fits but isn't particularly sexy. I watch "What Not to Wear" and when they go into those wonderful lingerie shops in New York, I wish I could go too! lol

I've had great luck with Lane Bryant for fun and sexy plus size bras. The product is high quality and they fit very well. They almost always have a buy one get one half off sale going on for their bras, and there is always something on clearance.

Yes, some definitely get better stuff in than others. I'm lucky to have several stores close to my home and work, so I can usually find something.

I don't know how much control the store managers have over what they get in, but you might let them know there's definitely a demand for attractive lingerie in larger sizes. They may just not be ordering them because they figure they won't sell. Ask when they tend to get bras in, too, as your timing may just be off. At most of the stores around here, 40D-44DD tend to go quickly.

I've found several Playtex bras I've liked, too. HOWEVER, I've noticed they run smaller than many other brands, and most of mine have ended up in the trash in under a year of light use because the wires poked through or the straps broke. When the wire poked through the last one after about the third time I wore it, I sat down and compared my remaining Playtex bras to my other bras. The Playtex definitely have less stitching at the end of the wires, the ends aren't coated and the strap assemblies are flimsier. So, even though I LOVE the way some of the Playtex fit, I'm doubt I'll buy any more of them unless/until they fix the quality problems. :(

I hear ya, sister! It's like most companies don't think about design, at all. Or when they do, they figure big tits necessitate fugliness and/or "minimizing."

I'm a 42DD, and I buy most of my bras from Frederick's of Hollywood. They're a bit pricey, but they're really pretty, and if you take decent care of them, they'll last forever.

Well, we wouldn't have any at Wal-Mart here. I work there and we don't have anything over a D cup and very few of those.

I bought several bras from them once, on one of their sales, and initially was pleased with the fit, sexiness, etc. Until I realized at work one night that they were creaking, lol. Yes, they literally creaked when walking, moving around or whatever. I couldn't believe it, I've NEVER had that happen before. It was 3 different styles, their brand, and every one of them creaked like some old-fashioned cinch-em-up corset. After that, I never bothered buying any more from them. :D

Just find yourself lucky that they cater to a big back size and big cup size.

I have a large back size but very small cup size and I have never yet worn a bra because I can't find one to fit :(

Creaking? lol that's crazy! I don't know what to say in response to that.. Almost all of my bras are from Lane Bryant/Cacique and I have never once come across this creaking business.

I think "fugly" is the attitude that seems to go into most plus size items - be it clothing or lingerie, or whatever. How else can you explain the use of horizontal stripes in plus size tops? "I'm plus size already, so let me look even wider than I am?" :D

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check their on-line site. I don't mind paying a bit more, if I get a pretty bra that's made well (the lasting forever thing is cool too!)

I'm a 40DD so it's difficult to find pretty bras and lingerie in my size (fortunately, Ann Summers have started catering for curvier women here in the UK) but I usually have them shipped from an online store called Hips and Curves:

they do tend to be a bit expensive though. But it's wonderful quality.

cool post wife has same problem shes a 40dd and size 18 jeans can tfind alot of sexy stuff. like said walmart has a few but that tend to get gone quick

I've had the creaking problem before. Also, my problem is that there are nice, sexy bras in my size, but they all seem to be padded somehow, with no simple way to remove the padding. What to do? I'm not handy with a needle, so I guess I will keep looking, too.

I have been wearing a too small bra for years now- finally broke down and got fitted at a store last week and I am a 38H!!!! I also got a 40G that fits well....I just can't believe I've been stuffing myself into a DD all this time.

It sucks because it's hard to find something in that size that is sexy but gives me the support I need and doesn't cost too much. Anyone know of a good place? Plus side is all my clothes look so much better on me now.

Bravissimo.com do lots of beautiful lingerie and cup sized bikinis too-they have some of the best brands in larger sizes, a measuring guide and although they are a UK site, they will quote prices in various currencies including US Dollars and euros

I'm a 38DD UK size and have had some lovely, good quality bras from them-no creaking, no fugglies and no wires poking into my armpits!

Bravissimo.com is my absolute fave place to find bras. I'm a 38GG and haven't been able to shop in a regular department store or even Victoria's Secret since Jr. High.

I've seen some nice looking lingerie on a site called Hipsandcurves.com. Its geared towards larger women (who I definately think are sexier). Can't say much about comfort or fit, being a male, but the stuff is sexy.

I love Bravissimo too. I'm a 42E and can't find any nice bras in my size in shops.

I've always had luck with Lane Bryant. U can usually catch some good sales if u keep your eye out for them. Their non-wire bras are excellent as well. I'm a 44DDD and the non-wires offer plenty of support. Good luck!
