The British high-end apparel shop Argos started selling g-string underwear for girls as young as 9 in its "Babies and Kids" section

I think that this is too young for clothes that are sexually charged like G-strings. What is too young?

Alternatively, what is too old (Octegenarian G-stings??)

*yuh*

Never. No way- no how would my kid be wearing one of those.

Besides they should all be outlawed for going up your butt.

It bothers me to no end.

There's absolutely not one good or legal or sound reason to sexualize a child.

That's fucked up.

I wonder how many complaints they've gotten so far.

Sick shit.

It is ridiculous and it pisses me off to have those sexual predators - and that's what they are - going after my elementary school-aged (5th grade) daughter. Her mother and I won't allow it.

dear heavens whats next the Abercrombie and Fitch Sex Toy Catalogue for Pre Schoolers?? Or how about pasties for the pee wee league cheerleaders? I mean is there an end to this madness??? :(

That's really horrible, but let us not forget the repulsive little miss beauty pageants where you have 8 yearold beauty queens.

I posted about this a few weeks ago. Freaks me out slighty.

Oh and btw... Argos is about as down-market as you can get in a British nationwide chainstore.

As a teacher, I hate to see just how sexual children are becoming. They have no time to enjoy childhood. Did you know that little girls are aging out of dolls at about 5 years old? I was playing with dolls till I was 12. This society is pushing children to grow up sooner so they can join the consumer population. There is more money to be made in clothing and cosmetics than toys that promote imagination.

Well G-string is seriously pushing it. that is repulsive. but lets not forget simple everyday things they dress little girls in and no one comments. like bikinis for babies and toddlers and little girls. my personal opinion is...if you arent old enough or developed enough to wear a bra you shouldnt wear a bikini. you have nothing to hold the thing in place first of all. and second of all its commen sense that bikinis are sexual....i mean its considered sexy for a woman to wear it so why wouldnt it be a sexual thing for a child? i get very upset when i see these things in kids departments in stores! maybe thats just me tho.

Thats just wrong. There is no way that I'd let my daughter wear anything like that, let them be little girls before they become women.

Its a sad, sad world when this sort of thing is seen as acceptable.

Good god..these people are encouraging something I've been trying for a year to stop!

My SO's daughter will only wear thong underwear.. she is 13.

ofcourse I don't have to worry about it much anymore, I told her a few months ago that the thongs, the little cut off shorts, the t-shirts that you could see her nipples through weren't allowed in our house.. She no longer visits.

We are now awaiting the phone call from her mother.. you know.. the announcement that my SO is a Grandfather!

It will happen soon.. and her mom thinks it is going to be wonderful..

First of all congrats on laying down the law! I dont understand why parents are so afraid of dicaplining(ya i cant spell lol) thier kids these days. Im only 20 but I remember getting in big trouble and being damned scared of getting in that big trouble. Now kids dont have to be scared cause there will be no punishment. So good for you I commend you! And her mother sounds like a complete moron. Congrats your a grandma your 13 year old just had a kid? hummmmm doesnt sound right to me. Gimme a break my mom wants to be a grandma so bad she can hardly wait.....but she is happy to considering she doesnt want any kids before marraige or from her children who arent old enough to have any kids to make her the beloved grandma. Personally I dont know if i disagree with a 13 year old wearing a thong depending on what she wears over it( and her other clothes you descrdibed are totally inappropriate for her age) and if she doesnt advertise it. Do we really need to make a big deal over what kind of underwear we have on? That is till we are old enough and know it turns on our partner to hear about it lol. But at 13 you shouldnt have a partner so no need to share that info!

it amazes me what people will do for profits.

Hang on, no it doesnt really. Greed is what drives our world unfortunately.
We see this kind of exploitation of kids as sick and wrong, these companies see it as yet another untapped market...

excuse me. these are children how perverted can you be?? These are kids not sexual beings.
I felt unconfortable when I found out my sister was wearing these things.

Some people should get their heads out of their asses.

Good grief! Children are children! Sexuality is the last thing they need to have thrust into their lives.

Unfortunately the images that are put before them as teen heart throbs and beings to idolize make sexy seem cool and to kids and teens it is all about being cool.

My three daughters will get to wear G strings when they are no younger than 18 and able to buy them themselves...
