So I'm at this club last night having a few drinks with friends and there is a guy there that just about everyone knows, except me. Cute guy, kinda skinny. Anyway he left but was back in about an hour and was really upset.

Turns out that he went over to a guys house near that club and got sexually assaulted by the guy. He was able to get away before anything really bad happened but from his behaviour I'd say he was pretty traumatized.

Now, this is a desert southwest town that is full of holier than thou types but I have to give the police and all of the people in the club kudos. The bartender called the police and a group of us went out where the other guy was as he followed the cute dude back to the club. Kept him there until the police arrived and when they got there all I had to do was say that the one guy sexually assaulted the other.

Those cops were great and they treated him with the same kind of respect that you would want someone to show your own family. I'm kind of used to cops being less than polite when it comes to gays but everyone involved down here was just great.

And the other guy did get arrested.

I hope that this kind of thing is a sign that society is beginning to grow up and learn to tolerate each other.

I am glad these policemen handled the matter professionally, I wonder if they would have been as polite and professional had you not been present and instead only the victim.

It is always wise to have friends around when you have to speak to police, witnesses tend to prevent bigotry.

Or maybe the cops thought that the gay guy sexually assaulted the innocent st8 guy?
I don't know why, but though I respect most policemen, sometimes I just can't get to trust them..Some of them are real assholes.Others aren't.I guess you can't really get a good view of the whole society just from this one time..

the police are like everything other organized group, including these forums. You have some good eggs and you have some bad eggs.
