I have a few stories that describe sex between a loving couple. Some of it involves some sexting and flat out dirty fucking. Does anyone think this should or should not go into Romance?

Erotic Couplings seams be one-time encounters. I have one which is a one-off 69 story beyween a husband and wife. Not a lot of romance there.

Well except that she loves him enough to text him to meet her for lunch, gets a room, gives him exactly what he wants and sends him back to work with a smile.

In my experience, Romance readers don't mind a bit of down and dirty sex - but the North American ones (in particular) can be a bit prissy about the language used to describe it.

Also, the prospect of HEA (happy ever after) seems to be reasonably important.

Good luck.

This makes sense.
Looks like I'll have to resubmit a couple stories to ask for them to be moved.

I should add that though not numbered, many of my stories feature the same characters. It's my hope that readers will follow them and see that a raunchy one-off sex scene between this loving couple is part of the overall romance.

Whether or not it should go into Romance depends on the story, not on the sex in the story, but being merely romantic doesn't qualify a story to go into the Romance category.

The typical pattern for a story in Romance is that a man and woman develop an interest in each other and manage to forge a relationship despite obstacles they have to overcome. The story needs to end happily ever after.

There can be variations on the theme, but the HEA ending and the heterosexual partners seem to be a requirement.

That's a nicely written vignette, but it starts with a couple already in a relationship, no obstacles are overcome and the ending isn't Happily Ever After.

I imagine some Romance readers would enjoy it, and others would not. They can be a rough crowd.

Well let me ask simply... where would you put that story?

I'm struggling to find a home for hot stories about sec between a couple.

I'd be inclined to put it in Erotic Couplings, which is a bit of a catch all kind of a place. The story's main theme isn't really voyeurism or exhibitionism, it's more how they are reconnecting given their circumstances.

Thank you for your help. I had been told by some one that EC was for one time flings. Now that I've gone through the definitions myself, I understand.

Like electricblue66 I would probably put it in Erotic Couplings. That category can take a wide range of subjects, a lot of stories post there and the readership is large. You are not limited to one-and-done relationships.

I have three stories in EC. Two out of three are about married couples and the third is about long-term working relationships. The latter story was my highest-rated standalone story until just recently.

EDIT: I went back and looked at the rest of your stories. You're getting a good reception in Romance for the two Mark & Samantha stories that you have there now. You probably aren't going to hurt yourself by putting the others there as well. It might help if you make sure the title and/or short descriptions tie the stories together.

Thank you for that. If I have their names in the description it tells people the stories though not sequential are related. Thank you.
