Friday 13th - Sexta Preta - Black Friday

It's tomorrow!

Given the choice, I fly on any Friday 13th. I figure planes are as likely to drop from the sky that day as any other - and there tends to be more room due to those who refuse to fly on that day - and you get a choice of lift jackets, always a bonus!

The day has never really caused me to postpone anything - I'm more likely to cancel a long drive around the time of the full moon (why does the full moon produce more idiot drivers?) than worry about Friday 13th.

I don't think I'm superstitious, not consciously anyway.

Are you superstitious? Do you try to avoid anything potentially hazardous on Friday 13th?

Any other days bad for you - apart from afternoon people who need to get up in the morning.

my ex was born on Friday the 13th... which I used to think was lucky...

now? hm, not so much...

I have bad days, but they've got their associations, kwim? It's not a superstitious thing... just memories...

I don't consider myself to be superstitious, but I'm glad I don't have any business that requires me to leave the house tomorrow.

FYI: Friday the 13th doesn't raise eyebrows (or pulses) in Greece. Tuesday the 13th, however...

I was born on a 13th and have had my share of Friday 13th birthdays. So, contrariwise, I adore Friday 13th (gosh, can you tell? 3113!). I view it as one of those magical days/magical numbers creative, random, crazy. Rather like full moons, you never know what's going to happen.

I do remember flying on one memorable Friday 13th, my birthday, with--as I recall from the stewardess' announcing--313 passangers. Crazy things kept happening. Nothing bad or scary, just unexpected.

I love Friday 13th.

I'm very superstitious. I see omens (good just as much as bad) everywhere, particularly as I walk through the woods on my way to work.

Yesterday I saw seven magpies grouped, and I walked through two spiderwebs.

Today I saw a used condom by a holly bush, which has to mean something.

To me, Friday the 13th is just another day. All except for this guy in a hockey mask . . .

If you'd spoken crow you'd probably heard them say "Hey, here comes a human, get the other guys over, that freaks them out"

It means someone got a little prick.

He..He..

3113 - Happy Friday 13th!

I swear crows talk to each other - if you walk past a line of trees with crows roosting, the first one passes the message down the line 'here come the guy with the little prick - warn the Holly bush' or some such nonsense. As you you past the last tree, the last crow always cackles.

you think life is one big gary larson drawing??

ass.

I'm not superstitious about Friday the 13th. It's a great day to play tricks on those who are superstitious, though. Stuff like stepping on cracks and walking under ladders, scaring black cats into other people's path and knocking the salt shaker over without throwing a pinch over my shoulder. Great fun.

That's both mean and clumsy of you at the same time.

LOLOLOL

Tomorrow should be fun.

The other Aides in work, or at least most of them, already consider me to be evil incarnate. I have been sprinkled with Holy water, I have had them chanting at me. Their most common greeting to me is the sgn against the evil eye.

I have even had a complaint lodged against me by one because I do not wear a cross.

Of course on the days they truly irritate me I am guilty of using their views for my amusement. Hissing at them, telling them I am going to the Lab/Bloodbank for lunch, etc.

Tomorrow should be fun. Oh and I am truly looking forward to Halloween.

Cat

I've only seen the first Friday the 13th, so I haven't even seen Jason in a movie. Friday the 13th means nothing to me, just another day.

No I'm not superstitious and it's GREAT to see you around Neonlyte! You made my Friday 13th even better :nana: Hope you are doing well.

Are you superstitious?
RR: Nope

Do you try to avoid anything potentially hazardous on Friday 13th?
RR: Yes. Drunken orgies. Besides, they're soooo strenuous and messy.

Any other days bad for you - apart from afternoon people who need to get up in the morning.
RR: April the 15th isn't my best day.

Rumple Foreskin

I'm only superstitious about certain holidays and other inane things. Actually, I'm probably one of the most superstitious people I know, yet Friday the 13th doesn't bother me at all. I think I'm just superstitious by experience. I usually spend the 4th of July in hiding, but today I'll be out getting coffee and tempting fate.

Why on July 4th? In case of a terrorist attack?

no worries for me...although I'm having fun teaching the kids about why.

is the base of the superstition truly the Templar purge? Does anyone know?
