I want to vote for @Djmac1031 ‘s Jenna, but I guess it’s first appearance, which I think was sadly in 2021.

I’m clearly not widely read enough. Any recommendations for stories with stand-out FMCs from 2022 that I can download for my flight back to the US?

Although, not 2022, which I now see is the purpose of your request, to find someone to vote for. But writing's not always about the awards.

I think we might all favor our own characters. Ángelita Primera from my stories First Contact, How I met my Alien Girlfriend and the story I have inwork in another window right now being my personal favorite because she's walking around in my head right now. But she got published in 2023 not 2022 - though I wrote those two stories in July of 2022 (then held on to them while trying to get the third part I'm on now finished).

If I go for another author's character then like the OP I'm going to again break the time rule and pick Lilly from 'Home for Horny Monsters' - 100 chapters and still going strong. Stronger than ever in fact. And Lilly shows up in some side stories also now. But I personally found this one in 2022 so it works for me. A succubus who is actually a certain famous fairy tale princess (spoilers if I say more). She has the most personality of any of the cast in that tale, more so than even the supposed main character. Which is probably why the author made sure to make her central in two of the spin off stories also.
I linked chapter 1, but it takes many more chapters before Lilly shows up.

My favorite of my stories from 2022 was definitely Matching Hearts. Its heroine, Faith, isn't the sexiest one I've ever written, but she was fun to write and I think came across as a very nice person in any event.

Laura's Educating Laura series began in 2022, and people like her. She starts off as a lonely college student working at a camp for deprived kids, and gets less lonely, all in a fairly realistic way.

She's my main 2022 contender, though you could have Emily and Rachel (stars of I Say Ass, You Say Arse: Brighton and Contrasts, respectively) negotiating sex with a was-innocent young American chap. They've appeared in stories previously and since, though.

Or if a nice domme who loves her secretly-submissive husband floats your boat, Cat from Strength is a Caged Cock appeared in 2022. It's all about getting him to talk about his life to a mutual friend.
