Has anybody seen the Independent film Sex With Strangers?
It's a film created by the same gentlemen who made HBO's Taxicab Confessions,Joe and Harry Gantz.
This film is a documentary which follows three couples, self-proclaimed swingers, for a year...lowering the fourth wall.
The film features Sarah and Calvin who are a young couple involved in a complicated threesome with a woman named Julie. This makes for a very complicated triangle..
On the other spectrum of relationships; the second couple, James and Theresa..are a devoted couple who seem to be total soul mates on a mutual quest for sex as they travel around in their mobile love palace picking up virtual strangers and seducing them. They have a maturity and level of communication that the other couple clearly lacks.
The third couple, Shannon and Gerard, turned to swinging when a marriage counselor advised them to do so after a series of infidelities. They are in the middle of the other two in terms of emotional and sexual dynamics — they don't have an insane relationship but everything isn't fine and dandy either…
I don't want to spoil it for anybody whom hasn't seen it yet; so let me just say it's one of the best documentaries which seemingly focuses primarily on sex outside of the marriage.
(lots and lots of naked people having sex)
But underlining everything, what we end up viewing are extremely raw human emotions..allowing us insight into the complications that are usually kept behind closed doors.
