This might help, might not:

When I use a condom, I'm conscious of a loss of tactile sensation. I can still feel the heat, and to an extent the wetness inside a woman, but there is a lot that's lost. For example, I'm partially circumcised (just a 'snip of the tip') so when I'm moving in and out of a woman, there's the added sensation of the foreskin sliding as well. "Protected" sex (I'm assuming you mean "with a condom") is sort of like listening to your favorite head-banging music, but with the sound turned down way too low.
