Sex toys around the house

GREAT Blog!!

Hello MsQuote!

Sadly, I don't have any Ideas to offer, but I wanted to let you know that I read your blog post about toys around the house, and found it Fantastic!! I absolutely LOVE the Bobby Pin Idea!! I never would have thought of that!! Oh hell, I never would have thought of any of them! Thank you for sharing your Ideas with everyone! They're nothing short of Great!! :)

There's an extensive Household Toys and Lubes thread in The Blank Manual sticky near the top of the main How To page that could provide some ideas/inspiration. :)

ETA: The BDSM Talk forum (and probably its Library sticky) has several similar kink-oriented threads, if those ideas are of interest to you, as well.

I posted a story about Sex Toys Around the House on my blog, and I'm still looking for ideas? Any suggestions?

I notice you mention "Panty hose are always a quick go-to item for tying up your lover". If you're doing this, you should be prepared to cut them off afterwards; those knots can tighten to the point where they're impossible to undo, especially with sweaty fingers.

(Indeed, if you're playing with any sort of bondage you should ALWAYS have the wherewithal to cut it without damaging your partner, but nylons especially are a hazard. A good pair of EMT shears is not expensive.)

Don't forget the joys of clothes pegs...

I've always found that old silk neckties are great for bondage too and they tend to be easier to untie rather than having to cut them up. However, they'll wrinkle so either use old ones or you may have to iron them to make them wearable again. I've always found that wearing neckties to church, weddings, and funerals that have been used for other purposes is somewhat erotic.

I know people have talked bout using electric toothbrushes for vibrators but the back (non shaving side) of an electric razor works for a vibrator in a pinch as well. Then again the front/shaving side can also be put to interesting erotic use as well.

For those into spanking, rulers (espcecially the old time wooden ones) and various spatulas from the kitchen (best not use metal ones) are easy to get your hands onto.

This all sounds like a book my mom used to have around that house when I was a kid, "Hints from Heloise" about all sorts of alternate uses for household products. ;)

Good advice on the shears, but personally I'm not a big fan of clothes pins. Had a bad experience with them once. I much prefer clamps that can be adjusted.

Although I also have nothing to contribute I would like to offer my compliments on a well written article. It was exciting and thought provoking. I look forward to reading more of your work.

Fun and useful thread

This was a fun and very useful article. I hope it continues to get bumped to the top so people get a chance to read it.

Neat article...yeah, panty hose are great tie downs but they get knotted, on the other hand if you are talking the cheap stuff like drugstores carry or dollar stores, not exactly going to kill the budget. You don't need EMT shears to be safe, Sears through its craftsmen line of tools has a cut everything tool that literally does that, will cut heavy duty steel cable down to rope and anything else, and they are like 20 bucks..but always have stuff to be able to get someone out fast, I agree. Unless you know with rope bondage how to tie a one pull knot that will unravel the whole thing, best you have good cutters around.

The fun part about this is the imagination involved, the spontaneity, makes stuff you find around the house or can buy in some cases a lot more fun then the expensive stuff....Here are some of the things I have seen used.

-Electric toothbrushes (the sonic care is pretty amazing, but also expensive, it has incredible vibration
-The vibrating motors on some small hand tools (like the Black and Decker Mouse sander, put a piece of fake fur or silk on the sanding surface, and try it....had added advantage of the company being known as "B and D" *lol*
-thin bamboo gardening stakes make wonderful canes
-Ping Pong paddles as spaning paddles
-Obviously, ordinary white paraffin candles
-Spatulas both as spanky type toys and also if small robber ones, used for some forms of penetration
-Candies like red hot balls, mint lifesavers, you name it, that can make oral sex of either form hot, or try a red hot ball then work on someone's anal opening (stimulates but doesn't burn)
-Hot pads/cold pads used for injuries, used in sensation play
-Hair scrunchies used in penis bondage/ball bondage
-The large size boxes of saran wrap bought at costco and the like, for bondage play
-Wooden spoons, both as sensation play and also in use in localized bondage (like "splinting' a penis)
-For punishment, things like hot oils and ben gay (warning, you have to know what you are doing with some of these), put on sensitive genital regions can be effective punishment, but don't do this with heavy duty hot oils with high capucin levels.....!
-Wooden lemon reamer as a type of dildo/penetrative toy
-Bronze pot brushes as sensation play, for the rough feeling (they are soft enough not to cause damage, and don't do what one idiot I know tried, using steel wool pads *grr*)
-Sandpaper can make for cool sensation play as well, tape/glue it around a stick, on a flat piece of wood, or on a sanding block, alternate that with flogging someone
-and old carbon fiber fishing pole (which are really cheap these days), used as a type of cane, with the guides removed. The different duty levels of the pole make for different experiences, a light freshwater pole is going to be different then a heavier one)
-small c clamps like you use in a shop can be used effectively,I would recommend the smaller, plastic ones, they are cheap and lighter, the metal ones are kind of heavy.
-Metal pot scrubbers (a kind of ring) that are used to help clean pots can be fun, as a sensation play toy or when wrapped around a cock, a kind of punishment device.
-A small spring mousetrap can make for a good clamp or punishment tool, but don't use it to 'spring' the bar, that can cause injury and to me is dangerous
-Froze fruit/popsicles, can be used in sensation play (like use it to run around the genitals, which obviously is a bit 'oooch", then lick the melted fluid off, warming them up and also exciting them
-Wander around the Home depot, whole world of possibilities there, everything from tools, to wooden dowels, to pvc pipe that can be used at its very thinnest as a kind of cane to the large diameters that can be used for spreader bars, to make an effective bondage frame, etc.....The D-rings are the home depot meant for marine use work great in bondage play and cost a lot less then you will find at a BD/SM kind of store........

The really cool part is when wandering around, thinking 'oh, wow, that would be hot', adds to the fun of it.

My only no-no's that I have seen were people looking for electrical play stuff, folks, please don't fool around with 9 volt batteries, or with toy train transformers, they are relatively low voltage (12v dc, 18vac for the Lionel style ones) but can end up causing burns or worse, if you are going to do that, stay with tens units and the like, they are not so expensive these days and are safe if you follow guidelines with them, same with the transformers for charging cell phones and such, don't mess with them unless you really know what you are doing:).

Lauren, you're always my sounding board for great advice, and, as always, I LOVE these ideas!

Would it be OK if I included these in a followup article and gave you credit?

I haven't seen the tool you mention, so this is just a general observation on what "good cutters" means in this context: you don't just want something that will cut through your bondage material of choice, you want something that can do so without damaging the person underneath. e.g. if somebody has nylons/cable ties/etc tight enough to be digging into their flesh, you really don't want to be trying to work a sharp point under that in order to cut it.

The nice thing about EMT shears is that they're specifically designed to deal with that problem.

True, the cutters I mentioned are sharp, if stuff is recessed EMT shears might be better.....Diagonal cutters could do the trick without hurting them, for things like cable ties. The key thing is to always think safety with this kind of stuff:). I have seen shears similar to EMT shears on the Bay and other places and they weren't too bad, but who knows if they were real or not.

Be my guest, the whole idea is for people to have fun, and I don't care who gets credit,, some of these are my ideas, some others people gave me or I read about them. I think the most important part is recognizing that the biggest sex organ we have is our brains, and often coming up with something new and common as a deviant sex toy makes it even hotter..I mean, you come up with a small sander and it will be like "what are you fixing", and when you say "you" , well, there ya go:)

I'm working on a new story with a Christmas theme. I've had to excuse myself a few times while writing about things that could be done with frosting, sprinkles, whipped cream ... and popping a Maraschino cherry or two.

Oh, yeah. And Christmas cookies are supposed to be in the story ... somewhere. ;)

I'm from Louisiana so they may be easier to get, but Alike to push Madi grass beads in to my partners, puss then quickly pull them out she loved it.
