Agree. But be careful with the hard consonant sounds. They can’t be drawn out. The F and the U can be drawn out in speech but not the C or K.
Fffffffuck or Fuuuuck or even Ffffffuuuuck work. Similarly, the G and D are hard consonants so the only way to draw out another common word is Goooooood. (Could be God or Good, I know.)
 
I have a splitting headache today, which has been made worse by wearing my glasses. So, I'm running on caffeine and sweets and only putting on my glasses long enough to fix my transpositions.
 
There seems to be a large cohort of Lit writers (not saying any AH people are among them) whose characters can only "scream."

It's not believable, people - and it's frankly a turn-off. Just reading some of these scenes makes my ears ring.

Especially during a scene where your narration says they're evading detection. Think it through.

I've used "silent/voiceless scream" once or twice, I think. But not while anyone was trying to evade detection.
