sex or no sex?

Hmmmm well I am kinda curious...when you do write what do you prefer to write? I sometimes find quite the enjoyment in building up a story with a few scenes that while aren't all sex based...move the story along and build it up. I always seem to find quite a bit of stories where they go right into sex and are all sex...so I tend to enjoy playing the role of putting in some filler and adding some bulk to a story...how does everyone else feel?

I think sometimes I wait too long to get to the action because I'm not sure how to set up a scene, but into a "plot-developing" thread, I try and sprinkle in little remembered or imagined scenes to keep the sexy energy up.

("What's my motivation in this scene, Mr. DeMille?" I can imagine some character whining at me.)

I've deliberately jumped straight into sex in a couple of my stories ("In From The Snow" and "When The Cat's Away"), to try and start things off with a bang and develop the plot and characters at the same time. In these cases the follow-up threads cooled back down into plot development (except for AaronWebster, who couldn't resist following up my implied "Mile High Club" scene set-up).

I usually go for plot development, even if it is a sex scene, I usually try to put in character development into it.

Generally, I'm writing with the hope that somebody out there will want to add to my story/thread. So I really like adding background, and body to the story. As far as the sex scenes, they can be fun, but I really like to see were someones else will go with the scenarios I've created.

So please add to my stories. ;-)

Well... I don't write anymore. I am retired. LoL. No, but it seems that way, as the last thread I wrote was months ago.

When I first started writing my stories were jam packed with sex after sex after sex. It got kind of boring... so then I switched and wrote mostly plot driven threads. That was alright, but nobody was adding to the stories to addin the sex scenes... so I balanced myself out and ended up writing 65% plot with 35% sex mixed in. The style worked out pretty well. Sad but true, most of the writers I've watched come with thier brilliance have passed away into the sunset with thier writing...tis a sad time indeed to some extent...yet we still have enough writers posting it does make the site still worthwhile to visit on occasion.
