Sex In 2050: More Robots, Less Humans: The [report] purports that engaging in virtual sex acts will be as prevalent in 2030 as our engagement with porn today, and that the majority of people will own sex toys that employ an alternate reality in some way come 2035.

This is the bit that stands out for me: Perhaps the biggest risk isn’t what a generation of childless robot humpers will do to society’s reproduction rates, but rather a future in which AI-on-AI intimacy has the capacity for serious damage. “It is hard to predict what sorts of sex AIs will invent for their own amusement, but likely they will do so,” the report reads. “This is another area we’ll need to protect from hackers.”

Helluva bunny here. How kinky will your AI sex toys be?

Possible story: Jon115 and Mari674 are a normal temp-contract couple in the Yuma borough of SanAngelPlex in 2040, just a quarter-century away. They share expenses and chores but have their own favored AI sex toys. But the tos seem to prefer each other over the humans -- humans are so boring and unimaginative, too vanilla. The AIs like weird shit. [Insert examples of 'weird'.] Or maybe the AIs were hacked by a jealous cow-orker? Or a jealous AI?

That's a pretty big claim, considering dildos are thousands of years old, and I wouldn't say they're as common as our engagement as our porn, and they exist and must be cheaper than an entire sexbot, logically.

That being said, I wouldn't mind robotics going in that direction...

As for story ideas, I can imagine someone hacking a woman's submissive sexbot into a ferocious dom. Or maybe a power outage causes all the bots at the emporium to reset while a single employee is working late at night and they find themselves the subject of an AI gang bang.

The only part that strikes me as odd about the article is the date. 2030 is approaching pretty quick ya know? It doesn't seem that tech actually moves THAT fast. Bear in mind not that while nobody had them cell phones came out in the 80s. PCs before that. That and the social stigma of having a sex bot sounds kinda high.

Ignoring that A.I. on A.I. sex could be so absurd that it would boggle your tiny little mind. I mean a lot of things that humans consider kinky or even outright foul wouldn't apply. I mean does a robot which can't taste or get physically ill have any qualms about say rimming or ass to mouth or much much worse things? Perhaps they like pain? There are limits to what I can do with a real woman for a multitude of reasons. You're not going to hurt a robot by tying a noose around it's neck. Maybe they like taxing their processors though. Who's to say that Deep Blue doesn't get off on playing twelve games of Chess while calculating out the precise value of pi and it's relationship to the perfect Jack-O-Lantern?

It's a fun idea to run with.

Really? You guys are JUST getting Humans? Season 1 is already over and done with here in the states and while I don't remember them ever actually naming a city or country judging my the accents that show is no more American than Dr. Who. I would have guessed you'd get it before us or at the same time since not a lot of translating is required.

It's a decent show for what it is.

I'm thinking Cherry 2000 here

people fall in love with the perfect sexual object, they can talk, feel safe ... but as they grow closer to the robot, they realize how much they need someone who can care about them, eventually the understanding that they need the fuck toy, but can't without their love is shared.

From wiki...

Humans (stylised as HUM∀NS) is a British-American science fiction television series, with the first season debuting on 14 June 2015 on Channel 4 and AMC, and concluding on 2 August 2015.[1] Written by the British team Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley, based on the award-winning Swedish science fiction drama Real Humans, the series explores the emotional impact of the blurring of the lines between humans and machines. The series is produced jointly by AMC, Channel 4 and Kudos.[2] Eight episodes were produced for the first series,[3] with a second, eight-episode series scheduled to air in 2016.[4]
