Voters in Argentina sent a message to “libertarian” President Milei.

Milei’s recently formed La Libertad Avanza party captured just 34% of the vote in Argentina’s biggest province, losing by a landslide to the left-leaning Peronist opposition, which secured 47% with the majority of ballots counted late Sunday.
Milei conceded that his right-wing party’s crushing 13-point loss to his populist rivals represented “a clear defeat.”

Similar problems to MAGA in the US … faltering economy and corruption:

With Milei struggling to stabilize a sputtering economy and his close associates embroiled by a graft scandal ahead of congressional midterm elections in late October, the results were being closely scrutinized for their potential to rattle investors and roil jittery global markets.

Argentina has been a dysfunctional craphole for decades. The unsuccessful leech class is super upset they are losing benefits and that the country is rewarding success. Of course useless voters in the capitol want the old days. People in NYC are going to vote in a guy who will stop prosecuting many if not most crimes. You will always find this. There are people in DC who want carjackings and people in Europe who want their daughters to be raped by foreigners in the name of diversity.
None of it makes sense and none of it is good.

Milei is just about the best head of state on the planet right now. We need a Milei here. And no, he's not much like Donlad Trump (except in style.)

Treasury Secretary Bessent gave billions to Argentina to bailout investments made by his billionaire boyfriend.

On Monday, Popular Information revealed that the taxpayer-funded bailout had massive economic benefits for hedge fund billionaire Rob Citrone, a personal friend and former colleague of Bessent. Citrone’s fund, Discovery Capital, had bet heavily on Argentina, purchasing Argentine debt and equity in numerous companies closely tied to the country’s overall economy.

And his boyfriend did some insider trading too …

Maciel also noted that two weeks before Bessent announced the bailout, Citrone purchased additional bonds for “almost nothing.” Maciel said the timing of Citrone’s recent purchases has raised “suspicions” that Citrone had access to “confidential information.”

The Clown Show Administration is 100% self-serving.

Bessent’s assistance to his friend potentially will cost the US $20 billion.

What is trump's "style?" Lie obsessively and protect pedos?

Argentina/US relations are in a weird place.

Argentina suspended its export tax on soybeans, making them cheaper than US soy and giving China a cheap non-US source.

At the same time, Trump and Bessent are bailing out Argentina’s failing economy (and the US billionaire boyfriend who invested in Argentina) to the tune of $20 billion.

What a tangled web the Clown Show Administration is weaving!
