We had a few problems with one of the Literotica servers this morning. It crashed a couple times, and when it came back to life, it tried to clear out its spool of backlogged email. You may get a number of older thread subscription notices today if you were subscribed to any threads in the last few months.
These are notices that were never sent to you originally.
The system is not supposed to send messages more than a couple day's old under normal circumstances. If it gets that far behind on forum reminders, it should simply discard those messages. In this case, for some as-yet-to-be-determined reason, this machine was saving up the undelivered messages and it unleashed a storm of them early this morning.
On the bright side, you will only get messages that you signed up to get, and if you aren't subscribed to any threads, this whole mess shouldn't affect you at all.
Our apologies for the mayhem, and we're working on the problem to figure out what went wrong and taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again.
