Hey I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this question.

I’m working on a full length romance novel that I was probably just going to publish here in full. But it’s a slow burn at first and I didn’t want to bore people. I thought I would post a later chapter to gauge interest because it seemed to work as a stand-alone.

I thought if it did well I could start posting the rest of the book and repost this story in the correct order when it came time.

I have really never published anything before so I’m kind of testing the waters. It would be cool to actually self publish but I really just want to write.

It was sent back for being a teaser for a full length offsite project which is not what I intended it to be.

Is there a way to word it so that it won’t get rejected? Or do I really just need to start from the beginning and hope it gains attention even though the first few chapters are not going to be very spicy?

Thanks!

Thanks y’all! I think I might’ve just gotten impatient. Also I feel like there’s a lot of story I need to develop but that’s just me being a perfectionist. I assume if I ever do publish it offsite I would probably work really hard to make it even more fleshed out.

I wonder how many people have gone on to do that, and how it’s done? I started trying to pay attention to the genre a while back but I got out of it and I never really looked much into publishing.

While you can’t post teasers here for offsite works (no, “Story continues on Medium” allowed), you can post a later chapter and then prequels - and if you chose manual series management, you can have it in the right order.

I posted the middle episode of my Suck, Plug, Spank trilogy of short stories first, then the prequel, then the sequel.

But you need to make clear in the notes that this is not a teaser to any non-Literotica content.

Thank you! I think that’s where I got stuck. I might just start in order anyway. Now I’m rethinking the whole thing!
