Sensual Singers

Female- Beth Orton, Couldn't cause me harm.
Male- Tom Jones, anything he's ever sung.

BTW they say that when Tom Jones starts to sing all you can hear is the sound of knicker's hitting the floor.

You can't forget Barry White and Kenny G. doesn't sing but plays.

There can only be one sultry sensual voice...

:p

Seal, Brian McNight (Ungh) R. Kelly... (Ungh again), Bryan Adams, and... uh.. Whas the lead singer from the Police? My god I love his voice.

Oh oh and the guy from Creed. UNGH

Marvin Gaye

Johnny Lange.. mMmmmm the rough edge to his voice and he's just a baby!

Vince Gill. Damn that man can sing.

Bonnie Raitt: She's my idol

Karen Carpenter can move me.

Patsy Cline

Eric Clapton

Julio Iglesias, "To All the Girls". Very mellow and soothing voice in that song, with the power to put one into a swoon. I don't care much for the MESSAGE of the song, though: he's fooled around with a lot of girls and never been faithful to any one girl. And when Willy Nelson breaks into the song with his nasal rasp, oh PLEASE--what a mood killer!

I also like the song "My Girl", you know, "I guess you'll say, what could make me feel this way, my girl, my girl..."

Mostly, though, I like deep baritone voices. Husband has such a voice, but he's only a so-so singer. He likes to sing "16 Tons" because it is one of the few easily-singable songs for baritone. Tennessee Ernie Ford recorded it originally, and I do like that deep voice on the recording. The 1950s "Get a Job" by the Silhouettes is another good baritone song I like, both as recorded and as hubby sings it. Same with Sittin' On The Dock of the Bay.

I saw an interesting program on A&E about Bing Crosby. The reason songs were traditionally written for tenors was that it was the only male vocal range that projected OVER an orchestra. Crosby was one of the first to realize that with the introduction of microphones, ANY male vocal range could be projected over an orchestra, and that is when he perfected his deep-voiced crooning technique (I like Crosby's vocal range, but not his crooning, or Sinatra's crooning either, for that matter). Anyway, just a bit of useless trivia for you.
